This exhibit is presented to the jury here at MJ's for their approval or disapproval. The case is for an over 177 in tonight's Heat/Pacers game.
-After last night's loss to the Pistons, HC Pat Riley stated, "We don't have bad players. We're just playing bad basketball. We start out almost every game playing the way we should, but then revert back to selfish play again. It's like we lose our focus as the game goes on!"
-Well....that's a reversal of the "none of 'em are as good as Hardaway" psychology Riley tried prior to yesterday's game.
-Makes me think Riley will be watching tonight's 2H for evidence of "selfish play" with "loss of focus".
-Then....if or when he sees "selfish play" with "loss of focus".....I beleive he takes corrective action IMMEDIATELY. Riley's gotta get control of this team's late game play...EVEN THOUGH he's looking toward the 2003 season to become "competitive".
-Incidently....the Heat had 42 pts in the FH last night BEFORE "selfish play" with "loss of focus" got the better of them. End result was only 38 pts for 2H. (Under their seasonal average of 82)
-Therefore, Riley has nailed the Heat's conundrum but can he do anything about it???
-As for tonight......assuming Isiah Thomas and his Pacers can avoid one of their patented "lose your cool" melt downs.....I think this game as a resonable chance of catching the over.
-O'Neal should get better than his season average of 19 pt/game with the way he's been playing lately.
-Also, the Pacers at 36% with their three ball shooting doesn't hurt this over's chances either.
-Last night the Heat drilled threes in the last 1:00 of the Pistons game. Maybe that's an omen.....maybe it was just dumb luck? I don't know but they tried to pull a "rabbit outa the hat".
---------------------------------------------
FOR THE SEASON
-Indy averages 98.4/game on 45% shooting
-Miami avearges 82.9/game on 42% shooting
IN THEIR LAST 7
-The Pacers have averaged 98.8
-The Heat have averaged 78.7
98 + 78 = 176
The line is 177
If Riley doesn't like what he sees 2H tonight, I think he makes the necessary moves to tweak things and gets the Heat back closer to their season average of 82!
98 + 82 = 180
GL guys whatever ya decide!
