Tim Wakefield will start the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against Tampa Bay.
Because of the start, Wakefield probably won't be available as a reliever after Saturday.

Jaret Wright/Clev will be activated from the disabled list on Saturday to start the second game of a doubleheader in Kansas City.

Steve Trachsel will come off the DL and start for the Mets on Monday.
Monday would have been Jeff D'Amico's day to start, so it's possible that the Mets will drop D'Amico from the rotation and stick with Mike Bacsik.

Esteban Yan was ejected from today's game in the ninth inning after hitting Manny Ramirez with a pitch.
Yan could be facing a brief suspension.

Tim Redding, who hasn't won as a starter since May 13, told manager Jimy Williams that his sore right knee was 100 percent Wednesday. Nonetheless, Redding was moved to the bullpen, at least temporarily.
''He threw today, and he felt good,'' Williams said, ''so that's (the bullpen) where we're going to put him.'' Nelson Cruz and Kirk Saarloos will start Friday and Saturday. Redding originally would have pitched on one of those days.
