I haven't seen it yet but will probably go sometime this week. The Departed is a remake, or based on a cop-gangsta Chinese Trilogy. I've seen the trilogy and it is REALLY good, in case any of you want to watch it with subtitles and all, its called Infernal Affairs.

I saw it at blockbuster with a hot chick on the cover, funny thing is the chick wasn't even in the movie...how sad the marketing ploys used by these huge companies that can't even advertise a great movie right...

Good movie (wouldn't say great) worth seeing. Heard a lot of the original movie ended up on the cutting room floor. Might be better on video with the missing pieces in place. They could have went for the gratuitous "sex and violence angle" but chose not to which I think was the way to go. Jack and Titanic lover had me believing. A few things I missed that I may catch the next time I see it.

Liked how we were introduced to the actual elements of a bullet going through a skull and got to see it real time as well.:com:

finally got a chance to watch this movie...nice remake of the original trilogy, altho I didn't think Jack fit the part, couldn't they have gotten Pacino or Chris Walken?
I also noticed that the story doesn't make as much sense with the setting in the U.S. as opposed to Hong Kong...also, thought Leo did a really good acting job in this one

movie was good...

ending sucked.... What a cop out.. its like they couldnt think of an ending so they just killed every character in the last two minutes...

and that douche bag who shot leo??? where the hell did he come from???

"Oh by the way im a bad guy too" ??????? WTF???

Also it never showed how Mark Wal found out that Damon was a bad guy??

Just awful

the shrink told him. that's what leo left in the envelope that they never showed open.

i enjoyed it, but whenever there is too much hype for a movie i am usually let down. superb acting and entertaining, but a little long. i hate long movies. those that said it was as good as goodfellas are off their rocker.

it was really long because the hollywood version tried to fit the trilogy all into one movie, alot of things were not explained and alot of things did not make much sense cause they skipped some stuff...for example in the original Costello's character recruits a few kids into the police academy....
only thing I didn't like was Costello's character...quite extreme imo....
