Guys,

I quit the insurance industry 2 years ago to pursue a career as a basketball coach. My program reaches all the way down to 5th grade. I have come across some amazing kids in a short time and it has really changed my life. Anyway, 1 kid in particular has really impressed me. A current 8th grader named Naat?aanii Todea.

To make a long story semi-short, Naat?aanii?s parents are going through some real tough times like a lot of folks. Naat?aanii is a pretty good basketball player, but is an amazing cross country runner. He has a chance to compete for a national junior Olympics team but the family cannot afford it. His Dad has arranged for Nat to stay and fly with other kids, etc. I asked his father to narrow everything down to the minimum he would need to compete and am trying to find the money to help.

He is a very dedicated athlete. He gets up at 5:30am 3 days a week to go to the Y before school and drill for basketball, because he can't get away after school with homework and chores. Not too many 8th graders would do that.

If you can help at all, please let me know! Anything, even $10 would go a long way.

Chad

Thanks a ton to Jack for allowing me the chance to ask.

The Dad had been telling me the kid could run. I knew he was a good athlete but had only seen him play ball. I had talked to the Dad about the possibility of helping. I only found out because I had to grant him the time off from our team if he could find the money to go compete.

On Sunday we started our conditioning. Nat absolutely smoked everyone in the gym, including some older boys! He looked like Forrest freaking Gump out there. I had never seen anyone run like that.

That's when I asked him to narrow it down and put the letter together.

Can't wait to see how he does!
