I posted a few times on here last year about my ags and won so here goes the first one for this year. I hardly ever bet on my team so this is not just some aggie fan blindly taking his team. Against Va Tech last week I think the aggies actually looked pretty decent against a top 5 team on the road. It was a close game the whole time and only a 2 point game in the 4th quarter when Va. tech scored 2 late touchdowns to win and cover. All week when people have been talking about this game they have been saying nothing but Rutherford to Fitzgerald. I think Reggie "the real deal" Mcneal will have a little something to say about that. Supposedly this kid loves big games and loves the spotlight(i.e. big game against OU last year) so he cant wait for this national tv audience. Last week he played a good game but it was in a driving rain storm so he couldnt show everything he had. Today will be his coming out party. Courtney Lewis should be getting most of the carries today as it seems coach fran and the staff are realizing he is a much better back than Farmer. I am hoping they will even run a little option with Lewis and Mcneal. Supposedly they didnt run the option the first 2 games because they didnt need to and didnt want to show it to the better teams and they couldnt run it last week because of the hurricane. I think the option comes out this week and might burn Pitt for some big plays as they wont be ready for it.

The defense has had some trouble stopping the run, but the first 2 games the aggies were disinterested playing against much lesser opponents. They couldnt stop Kevin Jones and the VT running game last week but not many defenses in the nation can stop that guy. The players are getting more and more familiar with the new system as each day passes. The aggie defense always plays better at home and they will stack the line against miree and force rutherford to beat them with his arm. I dont think he can do that as long as we keep 2 guys on fitzgerald and man up the other receivers. Kyle Field will be rocking as always and given that this is a nationally televised game the crowd will be even more hyped. Add in that we are a homedog(the ats stats for the aggies as homedogs is ridiculous but i dont know the exact numbers) and I think all this adds up to an A&M win.

I will respectfully disagree with your call. Don't disagree with much of your analysis, but I think you missed the most important thing I have noticed about A&M and that is a stunning lack of depth on defense and the O-line. There are walk-ons logging big minutes and the O-line was decimated by injuries to arguably their best two O-linemen before the season even started. The O-line and defense put up a good fight against VT, but they ran out of gas. VT was all over McNeal in the second half.

My sources say that Coach Fran refuses to take the redshirt off of guys who might be able to help this year, building for the future. I respect A&M and Fran and A&M as a home dog, but I think this team will continue to wear down late in games. Off a loss, Pitt will be focused and I believe will get the W.

Yeah i hear miree isnt 100%. mcneal being the best aggie qb in recent memory isnt saying much, but i think he puts on a show today.

Tupac thanks for your input, but you are wrong.

Doug E. the oline being worn down by Va Tech isnt worrying me much considering VT will probably do that to every team they face this year. As far as Fran not pulling off the redshirts I like what he is doing. We arent going to do much this year anyways(probably lose 5 games or so) so why not build for the future. I just think the 12th man will be too much for Pitt to overcome today because they arent used to playing in an environment like this.
