Monk - yeah, did a Windows update and there were no Critical Updates required, just a host (17) of recommended Windows XP updates that I don't think would have made a difference?

Anyone else have the same prob as me that when I click on play nothing starts and I get a note at the bottom of my windows page saying javascript://

You may have your javascript turned off.

If you do it will not allow you to access sites like that.

Some people turn javascript off so not to worry about virus on web sites. It wont work without it though.

try checking this:

go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced

make sure that 'JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled' is checked

the 2 boxes above that on mine were not checked.

i know it has something to do with virtual machine but not quite my area of knowledge. i'll keep checking for you however.

Nothing about a "JIT compiler for virtual machine..." in the advanced options for me...

Never mind, not the end of the world, don't want to ruin the thread for everyone else....

Anders, do what FM suggested under the "Advanced" tab and see if a box is checked under:

Java Sun
.......Use Java 2 v 1.4.1_02 for <applet>

Check it if it is not and restart your computer and see if that helps.
Good Luck

Thanx guys - have IE 6.0.... nothing in the Advanced about Java at all I'm afraid CC, was looking for something like that that may have done the trick that wasn't enabled...

Anders I have same prob on office machine. Both home and office are indentical computers with same setup. Only diff is office uses dial up and home cable however there is another diff that may be the culprit is I have Zone Alarm firewall at office and Nortons at home and Zone Alarm is great but can be touchy at times but don't want to mess with it as I read these at home where they load faster anyway.
