Ny good luck this weekend. I'm heading back to Oxford for the first time this year. I hope the Rebs will put on a good show for me. I also agree strongly with your LSU pick, this game could get ugly. Have a good one.

Thanks much, guys. Best of luck to each of you!

Here's a couple of additions:

5* Memphis -15.5
The more I look at this game, the more I think it's going to be a big time romp. Memphis has a really good offense this year, and a fairly good defense. Arkansas St is weak. If you don't think so, look once more at last week's Tulsa score. I think Memphis will enjoy the experience of a rare blowout, and I don't think Arkansas St can do a thing about it.

5* Texas A&M +1
Don't really know why Pittsburgh is coming to College Station a favorite, unless it's from their pre-season press clippings. They'll be pretty angry from their loss last week to Toledo, but I'm not sure that will do them any good. A&M looked much improved against Virginia Tech, and they should look even better in this game at home. Franchione is building a solid program here, and Saturday we'll be impressed with how far it has come.

Good luck, guys!

OK, one more:

5* Minnesota -1.5
The Gophers just look like the play here, what can I say? They're also 5-1 ATS in this series. Why not an impressive win on the road?

Good luck, guys!

Thanks for the great write-ups Reb. I was looking hard at the Memphis State game all week and you convinced me that this game may be the best of them all.

Good Luck this weekend.

OAKAS, I got a good feeling about Memphis. If you do too, then all the better. Good luck!

Adding:

5* Ole Miss/Texas Tech over 64.5
A rare college totals play for me, and the first one this season. Both these teams have high octane offenses and vulnerable defenses. I see Ole Miss winning about 42-28, which just happens to be the same amount the Red Raiders beat them by last year. That gives us 70 points to play with. Sounds about right.

Best of luck in all your choices!

Great info...as always

Great info...as always

I'm down with all your choices as in I had targeted all the same contests excepting the cuse game, which I am not too familiar with. Sounds good though. I going to check it out.

And being a USC devotee', I back your Trojans pick 100%. Cal has actually covered in something like 5 of the last 6 (not exact but close enough). However, as someone who attends all SC home games (and some roadees), I can say for sure that the Cal game last year was the true turning point in the resurgence of the team and program. Cal has performed fairly well so far but they are young upfront on both lines and SC should completely overpower them on both sides of the ball. The week layoff has them juiced and ready to go at it. Cal has been grinding away and should wear down. It's a solid pick.

One question for ya...as someone with ACC experience, what you make of Fla St/Duke -29 1/2? FSU has beaten Duke by no less than 31 points over the past 5 years, and that was last year when they were down, and they usually win to a tune of about 40 points or more. I like FSU alot. Any feedback appreciated.

I also like Tex/Tulane over 63. I saw where Tex has shutout Tulane the past 4 years but I can't see it happening again. Tulane has a NFL caliber QB and they should put up 14 to 21 at the least. And I see Tex scoring in droves as Army put up 33 on Tulane just last week. In fact, Tulane contests are averaging in vicinity of 70+ per game...last week 83 points total.

I appreciate all the fine info and work you put in. It helps alot. Any feedback on the FSU would be appreciated.
GL this w/e.

* Florida -9
Gators got a lot of freshmen talent. Just ask QB Chris Leak and RB DeShawn Wynn, who are both ready to roll against Kentucky. In Fact, I find the Gators superior in every facet of the game, like the two lines, for example. Gators could roll in this spot. Frankly I don't see much chance of it not happening on Saturday. Wildcats totally outclassed here.

daft, FSU is probably the team I follow most closely in the ACC. If there were good value in taking them, I'd be leading the parade. However, the Noles won't take Duke that seriously, will rest several players who are nicked up, and will be comfortable coming out of this game with a 2-TD lead. Now, don't get me wrong -- FSU could trounce Duke 50-0 if they really wanted to, if they were mad at them or something. As it is, there's no reason to totally trash the Blue Devils. Score could easly be something like 38-10, and you still wouldn't cover. FSU is definitely the right side -- I just can't take this one. FSU is best taken against a name opponent, someone respected and feared by other teams. When FSU plays someone like that, it's time to load up on them. Take them as a dog, not as a big favorite. I almost always bet FSU when they are the dog, and I have won tons.

I'd say you have a shot with the over in the Tulane/Texas game. Both teams can put up many point, and each defense has their weak spots. Losman will be the best QB on the field, and he's worth watching. Can't discourage you from taking the over here. I've already taken the over in the Ole Miss/Texas Tech game, and I only allow myself one college totals play a week at the very most.

thanks yet again for the response and insight on FSU. think I'll stay away.

but I am always a sucka for the over and so have gone for both Texas and the Ole Miss game..though I also like your discipline in taking only one over per w/e in college.

best of luck.

Thanks, guys. Always great to read positive feedback.

Nice day yesterday. Picks went 7-6, so that was pretty mediocre, but the good news is that I won my 10* on LSU (7th straight easy 10* winner) and the 7*s went 3-1. So that put me +20.8*s for the day, which made me happy.

Really don't feel like I deserved to lose the Alabama or Ole Miss game. They both could've and should've won. But, like we all know, that's the way it goes.

Looking forward to next week. Take care, guys.
