Madjackers. As a Rays fanatic and team supporter since 2005 I must confess. I have been to hundreds of Rays games. My buddy works for the Rays. I was at the ALDS last year. I was at the ALCS. I was at the WS too.

Scott Kazmir just does not win the BIG GAMES. Yes his is crafty. Yes he is good. Yes he has shown brilliance at times but never consistently. Never for game after game.

This llnes screams LA ANGELS. My knowledge and experience says either I have to take CC or no play.

Lets look closer.

Game 2 of the ALDS

http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2008_10_03_chamlb_tbamlb_1#boxscore

Kazmir 5.1 innings 2 runs 2 er 2 bb 4 so

Game 2 of the ALCS

Kazmir 4.1 innings 6 hits 5 runs 5 er 3 bb 2 so 3 HR

Game 5 of the ALCS *HIS BEST OUTING*

Kazmir 6 innings 2 hits 0 runs 0 er 3 bb 7 so

Game 1 of the World Series

http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2008_10_22_phimlb_tbamlb_1#boxscore

Kazmir 6 innings 6 hits 3 runs 3 er 4bb 4 so 1 hr

Game 5 of the World Series - LOSING THE WS

Kazmir 6 innings 5 hits 2 runs 2 er 1 bb 3 so

IN THE 2008 POSTSEASON THE RAYS WERE 1-4 IN KAZMIRS STARTS.

People around the forums are saying they got him to face the Yankees but the truth is they got him to get past the RED SOX.

Wanted to share this info. Use it. Dont use it. Most of all GOOD LUCK.

How is a non-elimination game in the ALCS the biggest game of a guy's career when he has made a World Series start?

Because HE FAILED in the WS 08'. He failed in the only ALDS game 3 start. If not for the first time in 100 post season innings that Papelbon blows a save Kazmir would be 1-5 all time post season.

He was traded to do 2 things this postseason. Beat the Redsox and now beat the Yankees.

I dont know about you but his game 3 performance in the ALDS sucked.

6 innings 5 hits 5 runs 5 er 3bb 1 so 1 hr.

He pitches anything like this tonight and the Yankees will crush him.

Thanks for the info. I do think the line screams CC tho. 75% of public on Yankees and CC price is never that low so I think everyone expects Yankees to pull it out. Appreciate the info just hope you're wrong. Gl if u play

Kazmir is 1-1 in post season even though in those starts his team is 1-5....there is a little bit of a difference. That start in game 3 was also in a very different atmosphere than pitching in front of your fans.

You don't know till the game's over, but I'm just saying.

I'm not trying to pick fights with you, and I'll even let you have the final word on this (because I'm heading to the Big A shortly) but if that line you posted on Kazmir's World Series Start is accurate then I don't see how it's a fail. 6 IP, 2 ER is not dominant but it's pretty damn solid. I'd take it tonight out of Kaz.

I don't know all of Kaz's career post season numbers, but if he is in fact 1-4, that doesn't necessarily reflect how he has pitched. For instance, CC had an ERA just over 1 in his 4 starts on short rest in the regular season last year, but his team was 2-2 in those games. Obviously, CC pitched muched better than .500 ball but my point being you can't necessarily judge some numbers without looking at alllll of them, which is what makes it tough.

Finally, I don't know if you were just exaggerating on Papelbon's post season career, but he is no where near 100 IP. Somewhere around 25-30 is more like it.

Again, go ahead and refute my points, you can have the last word. You provide a lot of good information but I had to make mention of the fact you were presenting subjetive opinions as if they were objective facts.

For all I know Kazmir will show me what I have rarely seen and always expected from him tonight and that is a masterpiece. Cant tell you how many games I sat the Trop expecting Kazmir to do that and go 8 or 9 innings. :sadwave:

cycle.....agree and you know Kazmir in 3 of those postseason starts has allowed 3er, 2er and 0 earned runs. So I think his being horrible in postseason is a bit off...he's been decent in a few and well, enough said..

I will be the 1st one here in my own thread happy as hell for Kazmir if he finally pitches to his potential and wins tonight sure my bankroll will be less but I have watched him pitch for many years. I have also met the guy had a few drinks with him too. Nothing personal here I am looking to increase my bankroll that is all.

TEEMO'S TUESDAY BASES

TEEMO'S TUESDAY BASES

The Angels picked up Kazmir furing the season specifically for tonight. He simply gives the Yankees fits. In his career he is 6-5 vs the Yanks. Not so impressiive, I know. What is impressive is his ERA of 2.66 and WHP of 1.252.

Angels at home with Kaz on the mound. I think the Angels are the play. Maybe a small play on the 1st 5 under as well, as both pitchers might duel it out early. Angels will get to CC tonight....just a matter of when.

Nothing wrong he is just not a big game pitcher never has been. Always touted as. Garza is a far superior pitcher to Kazmir.
