NFL YTD (10-2)

and it's probably not what you would think...

Eagles (+4) I think this is one of those games that looks too easy on paper. The Hawks at 9-2 only favored by 4 against the Eagles??? Oh come on?! That's an easy winner, right?! I don't think so. I watch the Seahawks every week, and here are a few things to keep in mind...

1) The Seahawks are not a good road team. They can beat anyone at home, but a bet on the Seahawks on the road is ALWAYS a dicey proposition, especially when they're laying points.

2) They are due to lay an egg. They have won 7 in a row and are due for a letdown. You would think that wouldn't happen on an MNF game, but I've seen them do a lot worse.

3) Their D isn't nearly as good as you might think. They have managed to put up some decent stats, but their defense is far from great. It doesn't help that they consistently play soft zone coverages as well. They are the epitome of a bend but don't break D. The Eagles should be able to put some points up on them.

Last note... I know a lot of people will think that with Alexander's stats, the cold weather and the snow, the 'Hawks will just pound the ball behind Hutch and Jones all night long. I just don't see that happening. I think the Eagles will be pumped tonight and will do a good job of taking away their run game. One thing about Alexander, he is pretty fragile mentally. If he gets off to a slow start, and the other team's D roughs him up, you can pretty much count on him having a bad game. When his confidence takes a hit he's nothing to write home about. He's a very good running back, but toughness isn't a quality he possesses. I'm taking the points and think the Eagles may just get the outright.

Good luck everyone...

Appreciate your insight. I just don't see the Eagles scoring many TD's. Ackers nagging hamstring in this weather is concerning as well. I believe the under is the play here and it's been dropping big time. GL.

To add : Seattle has already wrapped up their division title. Who knows how much the starters are going to play ?
The Eagles also could very well be 5-0 SU at home if not for that collapse with under 3 minutes to play vs. Dallas.
Seattle away, wins their games by an ave. of 1.5 pts. per game while Philly, at home wins their games by an ave. of 9.8 pts per game. Also, with a win, philly gets to .500 at 6-6 and they've had alot of negativity this season.

I like the under too Acer. I probably won't bet on it, but you could very well be on to something there...

great points Hooks. I think the Eagles will play with a lot of pride, and they typically play well on MNF. And one last thing... Holmgren is a terrible play-caller. Reid definitely has the advantage as far as coaching goes.

Glenn,
What do you know we're on the same side again. Like the home dog in this one and I have a slight lean on the under as well.

Hooks,

Even if they (the Hags) have wrapped up their division, don't cha think they might want homefiled thru-out the playoffs? A win tonight would give them a 1 game lead over the next team(s).

I don't like either of these teams but I do like $$$$. I think the Hags just have too much "O" in this one for Philly to match.

Good luck to you all...

Sharper, Herndon and Jackson all out for the 'Hawks. Bryce Fisher is questionable. If Fisher doesn't play that would be a starting DE, a starting LB, a nickelback and a starting WR out for the 'Hawks. The Eagles look a lot more healthy for this one.
