The origin of the Statue of Liberty project is sometimes traced to a comment made by French law professor and politician ?douard Ren? de Laboulaye in mid-1865. Hmmmmmmm small difference here Duff... Correct me if im wrong but when the Statue Of Liberty went up there was no welfare program in place.. The immigrants that came here were expected to WORK if they wanted to flourish.. They didnt come off the boat and get handed free lodging and unlimited food stamps. They worked, they had skills, they assimilated, they made a better life for themselves and prospered.
These people are coming here uneducated and with no skills.. Yet they are being handed everything... They literally will want for nothing.. So what the hell will their incentive be to do anything but to sit on their ass and collect a govt check. Why would anyone do otherwise?
To me this is not a race or cultural issue. Hell Im all for immigration to those who chose to do it right like my wife a native Colombian.. This is an economic issue. We already have over half the country on food stamps and that number is growing. Now we are prepared to take in, feed, bathe and clothe the poorest peoples of Honduras, Mexico and god knows where else???
