CHICAGO / GREEN BAY UNDER 39.5

While the rest of the northern NFL games have falling totals (the total on BUFF/MIA dropped two points to 40 tonight!), this number has remained stable. I suspect the "Favre factor" will keep this number up close to 40, but I believe there are compelling reasons to expect the number to go UNDER. First, Green Bay's offense has not looked good the last two weeks and could have some problems against a divisional foe in a rivalry game. The other reason for an UNDER wager, is of course -- the miserable Bears offense. This team struggled to put up points on the road this year and has no consistency. Green Bay is a terrible place to play for struggling offenses, which means Chicago cold have some major problems moving the ball and getting into the end zone. Finally, the weather forecast calls for elow freezing temperatures and possible snow. If either of these offenses struggles, the total should fall UNDER the number. Even a Packer bowout of the Bears could go UNDER, since it's conceivable the Bears score under 10 points in this game.
-- Chicago has gone UNDER the total in five of its last six games.
-- Green Bay has gone UNDER the total in five of its last eight games.
-- Other than the New England freak game where Bears someonehow came to life, the offense has struggled badly much of the season.
-- Green Bay's defense is capable of shutting down any opponent.... especially at home. Last four opponents at Lambeau have scored just 14, 9, 10, and 14 points respectively.
