good for dantley...at 6`5",it was amazing the way the guy could create space inside to score among the trees....very talented offensive player...fantastic college player to boot...
High school too :scared
My HS played his team and him 3 years in a row and got crushed all 3 times.
Not sure of the year..1976.1977??? Dantley was a junior at Notre Dame...because my HS was a sister school to DeMatha HS we had a connection..one of the Holy Cross priests at our school got Dantley to fly to NY and be a speaker at our sports award dinner...I picked him up at JFK and drove him up to my school...Nicest kid..just a puppy...his speech was great...my kids got to ask him questions..one was... are you going back to Notre Dame for your senior year or going to the pro's.His answer was "I'm going back to ND"... education is the most important thing in life,etc... About 5 weeks later he left ND and went pro...we had the local press at our dinner and they interviewed him too....I didn't drive him back but gave him $300 before he left..my kids always said "WTF was that speech all about"...I said $...
