Regular Season YTD: 71-74-3 (-4.50)
Playoffs: 6-3 (+2.86)
This weekend has "the Battle of the QB's and the Battle of the Defenses"
Without a doubt that Manning and Brady are the better of the 4 QB's (I would still take McNabb anyday
)
All four teams have above average to great defenses, so regardless of which teams get to the SB, I think you will see a good ole defensive game!
Last weekend was the Week of the Dog....will it continue? Maybe, but i think
rolleyes: ) the HFA will make the difference and the #1 seeds of BOTH divisions will prevail...will they cover their lines? Maybe not, but would not want to bet against them not covering!!
There will be many out there this weekend spewing figures and such...will just give my analysis..
Indy (14-4) at New England (15-2)
Here we have the super hot Pats at home (rightfully so) against probably the 2nd hottest team in the Colts. Manning surely passed everyones expectations in these past 2 weeks and will not go down with out a fight. But the Pats are not the Chiefs in that they have a real solid defense. They are not the Broncos who thought they could just come into Indy and win without trying. Pats know how lethal the Colts are and were within 1 yard of winning back in November. The Colts WR's are in time with Manning in the past 2 weeks and his O-Line has protected him very well during that stretch. This is where the Pats need to focus to stop the Colts drives and get Peyton "out of rhythm"...they play good deep coverage and pressure Peyton and the game is the Pats IMO... Pats will have to do better with running the ball and Brady will have to play well if they want their 14th win in a Row
...Colts are used to the cold weather, but they dont play in it that often OUTSIDE....should still be a factor....Pats win 24-17
Carolina (13-5) at Philadelphia (13-4):
Disclaimer ONCE AGAIN (superstitious of me now!): I am a Eagles fan....have been all my life...will be swayed here, so please take this with a "grain of salt"!!
The Panthers have played exceptional ball these past 2 weekends and they deserve to be here....kept thinking back (when the Eagles were losing), that the last time the Panthers made it here, they played the Packers and lost...luckily, the Eagles won and they have to come up to the Linc rather than playing at Ericson! These teams boast 2 of the best defenses in the league and we will see plenty of blitzes and good hits in this game on Sunday. Being in NC, I think i know a bit about the Panthers (do root for them, when they aren't playing the Eagles)....The status of Davis will be a huge factor in this game...The back-ups are good, but they they are not Stephen...The Eagles pathetic Rush Defense will have to limit them once again (hopefully UNDER 150 yards)....The Wr's of the Panthers have come thru superbly and will be a tough challenge for Philly's CB's...The Eagles D is like a "bend but not break" kind of team lately....will be a challenge to see if that continues this weekend....The Eagles Offense will see a great D in the Panthers... Donovan will have scramble and give his WR's (and TE's) some time if they want to have a repeat of what happened last time they played Carolina....Carolina will be aware of what Donovan did last week with his rushing, and that should help the WR's get some good One-on-One matchup's this weekend...Kasay will not miss 3 FG's and 1 PAT this time, but hopefully the Eagles can confuse and frustrate the Carolina D enough to get a few TD's!! Eagles 27 Panthers 21
Playing:
Pats -3 (-110)
Pats ML (-163) 2 units
Philly -4 (-105)
Eagles ML (-195) 2 units
Panthers/Eagles Over 36 (-107)
Parlay: Eagles/Pats ML 1 Unit to win 1.41 Units
as always, GLTA and
GOOOOOOOOOOO EAGLES!!!!
