the land of confusion
Kicks off friday night with Collingwood v Carlton. These two teams hate each others guts and always lift regardless of their positions on the ladder. Carlton are last and look like collecting the wooden spoon for the first time in their hundred odd year history while the Magpies are cruising in third position and will finally get to play in the finals after years in the wilderness. Despite having just two wins this season, one of Carlton's was against Collingwood in round 2. Expect the Blues to lift for this one and cover the generous spread. Carlton +39.5 v Collingwood

On Saturday it's Fremantle hosting Hawthorn over in the west where Freo are a 4-5 goal better side. Freo's coach is Hawthorn's ex-assistant coach so will know the enemy quite well. Can't see Fremantle losing this so happy to give the goal and a half start. Fremantle - 8.5 v Hawthorn

On Sunday the Western Bulldogs take on the bad travelling West Coast Eagles. Eagles have only won one game away from home this season and that was by just 1 point to cellar dwellar Carlton. Hardly encouraging stuff!!! The Bulldogs played well last week and although their chances of finals action are slim :)thefinger MrC) they will give it to the Weagles. Taking Western Bulldogs -15.5 v West Coast Eagles

My Pawamech system likes three teams this week and is travelling along OK at 19 - 11.
First up it likes the Cats to cover against my Roos. Geelong -12.5 v Kangaroos Then, it too likes Fremantle -8.5 v Hawthorn Now this next one freaked me out when I first saw it so I re-calculated the figures just to make sure!! St.Kilda +39.5 v Port Adelaide Now as crazy as that sounds....it really ain't that crazy. 7 of 9 teams have won the line when offered 39 or more points this season which equates to 77.77% (even more reason to like that earlier Carlton selection;) )

Good luck fellas

Good luck PAW.
Looks like we're on the same page for once ;)

I was/am very tempted by taking the Saints with the points (can be had for +40.5), but neither Everitt nor Gehrig trained tonight and both are less than 50/50 to play

Forecast is for rain, but I don't think I can pull the trigger without those 2 playing, especially Everitt.

As for bankers that I will not be taking.......

Melbourne are a shocking price @ 1.40ish, and are a huge chance to get knocked over by Richmond! (Why do I cringe every time I hear the word :nono: )

And, this may be from left field, but I don't trust Brisbane @ 1.37.
They may well smash Essendon off the park, but 2 weeks travelling in a row...@ Colonial (The ****ing Telstra dome  )....Fletcher back...Just wouldn't be a great surprise..............Oh! and more importantly, I dreamt it!!!!!

I kid you not...I'm 7-0 for dreaming results this year

My info's never wrong mate ;)

Next three days for Adelaide City :
Saturday : Min 9 Max 13 Colder. Showery. Possible hail.

This might be the biggest factor....also Port seem to be stopping in the last 1/4 lately, Saints every chance to cover here!

Couldn't help myself.....Found Richmond at 3.25
I'd have them at about 2.50!.....Also if they lose, I don't think they will cover the spread, so I'll risk it for a nice price.

PAW, I can assure you that I haven't been betting on these 'dreams'. I've dismissed them all as rubish, but when it gets to 7 straight I'm starting to think there's something in it!
I'm not willing to back Essendon either, but if they get up it's straight to the shop for a bag of sleeping pills :D :D

If you can get Carlton +80.5.....it still won't be enough!!
It's currently early in the last quarter and Collingwood are
17-12>114 to Carlton's 2-7>19 :(
This will no doubt go down as one of, if not the most humiliating defeat in their history!! Unless of course there is a huge electrical storm that manages to strike only players wearing the black and white stripes...
Sorry folks....I was way off with this one. We'll get it all back tomorrow though

:D :D :D

My info was wrong and both played, but unfortunately the Saints fell 2 points short of covering

Still....Looks as if all was well with the weekend.

Richmond somehow managed to hang on despite Melbouirne kicking the last 7 goals of the game....still @ 3.25 they didn't have to look convincing :p

Went 2-1 with selections. Only Carlton failing to do the job and confident in the "interstate" trend continuing, to hit both Fremantle and Bulldogs a little harder than usual.

Mech-system went 1-2 to go to 20-13 for the season and a new balance of 147.6% :(

MrC.....I went skiing today at Mt Baw Baw and caught a patchy first few minutes of the last quarter between Richmond - Melbourne. Lost coverage when they had got to within 22 points and nearly crashed several times while scanning all frequencies for some sort of reception on the way down the mountain!!
Well done mate!........good to see you reappropriate from the man some of the cash that those buggers have cost me in recent weeks!!!

aaaaahhh.......chhhooooooooo!!!!
