Agree, Penn State would finish 5th in the Big 12 South because you have 4 of the top 7 teams in the country in the Big 12 South.

Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State would all beat Penn State on a neutral field. Missouri would probably beat them as well.

5th in the big 12? :mj07:

That team would put up 50 each night in the conference where defense is outlawed.

I totally agree. PSU is a very good team. I don't think they can beat Texas. But, then again, I don't think anyone can. PSU can beat Alabama.

They would finish 5th in Big 12 South, 3rd nin either SEC division.

3rd in country is a friggin joke...as is the notion of them playing for the national championship.

Does anyone here truly believe they would beat any other Top 10-15 team? Good grief.

Discuss.

No worries, Sun Tzu. They won't leave Iowa City with a W come Nov 8th....:D

Not to thread hijack, but I am getting dangerously close to jumping back on that 'always bet Iowa at home' bandwagon I spent about five years on.

Shonn Green would be my Big 10 MVP if I had a vote. Love that guy's game.

Very interesting how this team has evolved and improved.....is Ferentz getting his mojo back?

Now that topic is a 100% thread jack, so maybe not answer that! :142smilie

Gags I just dont see Bama winning at LSU and then beating Florida..or Georgia again. I think PSU has the best shot simply bc they play nobody and have no conference championship game...so they will probably get to the game. USC may walk in as well.

And yes the Big 12 defenses are suspect..in part bc the offenses are fabulous. ...but the Big 11 has no offense...so who knows if they have any defense against a good offense.

And i would agree Penn St might not be the 3rd best team but LSU beating Bama come on dude your going overboard.

Yeah, that is a :mj22:

A big NO from me on Ferentz getting his mojo back, T.P.

The coaching staff finally got it through their thick heads that last years QB Christensen was not the answer and turned the keys over to the current kid, Stanzi. Then, they got it through their thick skulls that RUNNING the ball with Shon Greene is the way to win ballgames. I agree, he should be the Big-10 player of the year, but he probably won't be. He had to sit out all of last year due to grades so everyone is hoping he's been going to class and he decides he needs another year in school before turning pro.
And probably the biggest reason why the Hawkeyes have it going on now is because they settled on a starting lineup on the offensive line and everyone got healthy around week 5. The left guard Bulaga is only a sophomore and will be playing on Sundays in a few years and they have decent depth if someone goes down with an injury.
Will Iowa beat Penn State in Iowa City in two weeks? Probably not, IMO. But you give me more than 4 points and I'll unload on the Hawks.....:D

THIS WILL BE THE 3rd YEAR IN A ROW A SEC TEAM WINS THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP:mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:
Do you really believe that TEXAS and P state combined could keep it with in 10 pts of FL, GA, AL?

I think Penn State would have the 2nd best defense in the B12 and an offense that could score enough. They couldn't beat Texas, but they're a better all around team (all THREE phases) than Texas Tech, Ok Stateand Mizzou and on par with OU. Texas would beat them 9 out of 10.

All that said, it's going to be moot because Penn State will lose to Iowa next week.

saying psu is overrated and could be top 10 instead of top 3 is very possible. saying usc "smoked" osu is laughable. todd boeckman for 75% of the snaps, no beanie wells, home game with phantom calls. usc would be lucky to beat osu at osu at night with healthy wells and pryor for all snaps. get a clue.

Are you serious? Combined ? :142smilie

Texas can hang with anyone. Certainly within
10pts. If any of those match ups occur I would bet the house on Texas + 10... Penn St

What an idiotic statement. 2 players who don't play d are worth the 32 points that Ohio State lost by. Get a clue before posting something so ridiculous.

Sun ur right on with how u see this, no reason argueing with these people who dont watch games and are able to see teams for what they are. Put another big 10 team in the BCS game and the same thing will happen as the last couple years. The big 10 has another Ohio ST. team but in Penn St. colors. I agree with u 100% keep up the great work I'll stand behind you.:director:
