92 games in a season for high school kids??? Am I reading that wrong?

That was just the off-season (April through October). Then they played 28 regular season/tournament games in December-March.

hawkeye - thanks. As far relaxing, Chad got up at 6 am this morning to go to the tryouts for one of his two AAU spring teams! I don't think he gets a day off until August.

The game was at the CU Coors Event Center, and it set a new record for fans for the state finals game (11,400). It was pretty rowdy in there, and my ears were still ringing this morning! This video gives a very brief show of the noise level in there.

An amazing run - I still think there's no excitement that matches that kind of basketball action, especially at the high school and some at the college level. I'm about a year and a half away from hopefully coaching high school, and know that all my spare time will be taken up by overanalysis and paralysis... every minute seemingly taken up by thinking about how to make players and a team better, or perhaps "less worse." Congrats to both of you on a great season - I'm sure you were a big help to him, Jess. Hopefully I can gain some perspectives from him moving forward - I think he and I probably have the same kind of coaching temperament, and that might worry me a little -

While not at the upper class level, our boys won by one point on a free throw with 1.5 seconds left to beat the #1 seed in our section last night. A lot of young kids on this team, and I don't think I've ever seen my son so happy - he never shows emotion like that. Truly special moments for everyone involved - and something that people that don't like sports will never experience or understand.

Thanks everyone. Honestly, I never thought we would lose that game. Even when we were down 12.

Just an amazing group of kids that played as 1. A true team.

It meant a lot that so many people like you guys supported us from all around.

Great to hear of your success. Hopefully one of many future trips this deep in the playoffs.

No days off until August? How the hell are you gonna take some of us MJers on a fly-fishing expedition:0corn
