Watched a lot of this telecast this morning. Al is making a book tour to college campuses endorsing his new book, "Lies and the Lying Liars that Tell Them".
I mainly watched it to try to get a feel of the liberal voice. He mainly blasted O'Reilly and poked fun at Rush. He also had some defamatory things to say about Bush and how bad a job he has done.
He ended with a Q&A session which turned into a sort of pep rally for the Democrats.
I've always thought Franken was an idiot who I also did not find funny especially with that Stuart Smalley bit. I feel I watched him long enough today to form another opinion on him. He is smart, eloquent, crowd pleasing, and a good speaker. He is good at what he does, and he is a good voice for the liberals/Democrats. I still don't understand how he can come to many of his ideas and conclusions, but I suppose there are plenty out there who agree with him.
What is everybody else's opinion on him, liberals and conservatives? Thanks.
Sidenote, there were several audience questions wondering why there are no successful liberal radio shows or TV shows (like O'Reilley). To me, the answer to that is easy, they wouldn't garner enough audience interest to survive. His answer was that the media is right wing and won't allow that type of show to prosper.
