I never had a problem there... UT campus was a nightmare. After Phillip Doyle kicked that winner way back when I thought we were going to be killed leaving the stadium. Good article here
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2228294
no way AU OC is there in 2 years. He will be a HC at a bigtime program very soon.... Also if AU keeps this pace up they will dominate recruiting, as long as OC is there at least. How do you generate more offense with this team this year, than last year....Unreal...

i have the fun of watching this shat and appreciating tough football. i have no disrespect for either school. i am looking forward to the emotion and the hitting that will go down. i will give the edge to the tigers because they are a more complete team at this point. i argued about the loss of reggie bush jr. (prothro) weeks ago in another thread. his loss has grounded the alabama passing game and it has shown every week after his injury. ala is proud and they are very good. really respect croyle and his effort after so many injuries... however, this is aub game to lose as they are at home and they are stronger at this point. the lone achilles heal may be the way irons carries the ball. he is a stud - no doubt. he does carry the ball a little loose - imo - at times. his fumble against uga last week was avoidable. ala will need to's to beat au tomorrow because their offense just does not score enough. that being said, shula may scrap his conservative gameplan(doubtful) and let the off come out throwing.

regardless, it should be a very good game and i look forward to it./ :mj14:

ps. i'm not sure that this matters, but i did have 3 interceptions in a ROTC game between the army and the usaf.... it was flag as well. i may be the shortest middle lb in ROTC college football history...... :)

Dear Tommy,
Thank you for pulling back after you easily got
up 21-0. Thank you for not killing Brodie. You see,
we take great pride in our football program at UAT,
and it's important for us to keep people believing
that we have a quality team this year. We are fully
aware of the fact that we played a cupcake schedule
and tried to fool the BCS folks into thinking we were
this year's Auburn 2004, but LSU and Auburn exposed
us, and we're sorry. We hope you will continue to
have mercy on us in your future thrashing of our once
dominant program. It was just so much easier to beat
Auburn back when Bear could cheat to get us as many
players on scholarship as he wanted, and pay them to
play for us. These NCAA guys are killing us giving
every team the same amount of scholarships and
exposing our boosters who have been buying our talent
for years! It's just not fair!

Oh well, that is not your fault Tommy. Thanks again
for not beating us 49-0, because we still want to go
to a quality bowl game this year so we can embarrass
the SEC again this year by letting a mediocre Big-10
team run all over us! Thank you also for making our
conference look good by actually winning your bowl
games! You guys are awesome! We are glad we could
help make the inaugural game played on Pat Dye field
such a special one for all you Auburn fans! What
sucks is that we can't even talk trash to you guys
about being left out of the National Championship game
this year! We didn't even cover the spread! Ugh

How much longer do we have to wait for our next moral
victory? I'm sorry, but it's just tough when you do so
much trash-talkin about how great your defense is, how
you're going to win your 13th National Championship,
Brodie for Heisman, etc., etc., and then your in-state
rival puts up a 21 spot before you can even blink, and
exposes you for the pretenders that we are!!!

Oh well, thanks again for keeping Shula's job. He
doesn't seem to mind losing to you every year so I
guess it works out well for you guys anyway. hahaha

Yours Truly,
Bamers

Ouch we could not have beatin' Auburn with Prothro or maybe Jesus for that matter no doubt Auburn is the class of the Sec and with Cox coming back next year looks like they might be for awhile. poor Brody i bet he is hurting today i feel sorry for him we got the hell kicked out of us and i admit it. I beleive Mr. Irons will go pro he is surely good enough. Just wish Arkansas could find a way to beat LSU so we could see the west roll over the east in Atlanta.

I agree. Auburn is playing as well as anybody right now. I don't see LSU losing to Arkansas, but I would love to see it.

Don't cash in yet. Ark has potential to win.... Long shot yes.... But could happen. Auburn kicked the shit out of the Tide. Like I posted after LSU beat UA, has Shula ever heard of a screen pass? Only thing that impressed me was Tides back up QB... I know it was prevent defense , mop up time, ect.... But he looked sure of himself, and was mobile... Congrats AU fans and alums, you got a hell of a team.

We did'nt even have time for a screen pass either. Auburn is just by far the better team as much as it hurts me to say that. I beleive they could beat USC and give Texas a real good game the way they are playing right now. I was really impressed with the Cox kid i was wrong about him he is a stud. And that Mcglover is a beast. The future is bright down on the plains.

I thought Wilson showed a lot of potential. I don't know how you guys feel, but I would be looking for a change at offensive coordinator. Rader's offense looks a lot like Auburn under Hugh Nall. (easily predictable and very little big play ability). To have a defense that good, and to not be able to move the football any better than they are, it looks like a switch should be in order. Look at the huge difference Al Borges has made for AU.

AU2001, I hate to throw anyone under the bus. I read the Bham news coverage of Iron Bowl. The letters from the Alabama fans made ** want to puke. Same rednecks that were ready to say Shula walked on water two weeks ago arecalling for his head. And "Well Auburn, we really won because we will win next year" I hate Auburn as you hate Alabama, but the fans are enough to make me scream. I remember being in the stalls at legion field about 20 years ago. Some drunk redneck with his Alabama gear on said"We ought to line up our RVs at Mal Moores house till he quits" and Im thinking the closest this shitkicker ever got to an RV is his mobile home. What the Alabama fans wrote in the paper today made me sick to my stomache. Im with SHula.

An ass kicking is what it was. Pure and simple. Someone forgot to tell UA that game starts with opening kickoff, not 2nd quarter.

OC change won't do much as Shula is the one who calls the plays and it would not matter if we had Norm Chow on Saturday--when the non-blitzing defensive front gets to the quarterback before the freaking ball, nothing is going to work.

I hope that Bama has a good chiropractor on staff because I truly think that Taylor Britt and Chris Capps have a terrible case of whiplash after spinning their heads around trying to see which AU defender blew by them on a few of those 11 SACKS.

Yeah, I understand the frustration. Shula has won my respect this year, he did not have it after his first 2 seasons. But he has learned from earlier mistakes, has showed a lot of maturity, and is going to get UA back on track. You can't praise him for going 9-0, then throw rocks because he gets beat by LSU and Auburn. By the way, those were the two best teams in the SEC. He lost to LSU simply based on depth. UA's starters beat LSU in the first half, but the lack of depth showed as UA just ran out of gas in the second half.

I hate to throw Rader under the bus, but it just seems like UA's offensive strategy needs a shot in the arm. Maybe it didn't matter once Closner got hurt. Maybe there wasn't enough depth on the O-line to make any offense work? Who knows.

Anyway, I liked the game this year with both teams being ranked in the top 15, and both teams will just have to find a way to beat LSU next year.

What do you think about UA's chances against Texas Tech if they play each other in the Cotton Bowl?

2Bigs, did any of you guys hear the quote from Taylor Britt about Auburn "still being second rate program and how they would never be the dominant program in the state"? I'm not trying to create an argument, but for this guy who got ran over all day to say anything besides "I'm sorry Brodie", just seems a little out-of-place to me. I bet Brodie had a little something to say to this guy after he heard that one.

Britt is an idiot and is where he is ONLY because of his brothers, in my opinion. The only thing he should be doing or saying after that performance Saturday should involve begging Brodie not to kick his ass for letting him get mauled. I hate to criticize a local boy but when he was offered a scholie to UAB, I was surprised. He should be playing at Jacksonville or UNA.

Not sure on what to think about Texas Tech. Shula has said that unlike last year's bowl game, their #1 priority this year will be trying to win the bowl game and not use the extra time to practice for next year. While I want a 10 win season as much as anyone, I also sure would like to see some talent developed during the bowl practices. We've got a redshirt frosh receive, Will Oakley, who has not touched a ball this year despite having tremendous #s in high school (Neese in Fla). If the WRs playing now can't learn how to catch a ball that hits them in the hands, fine someone who CAN.

Also I'd love to see our backup QB getting some more time if for nothing else then to give the opponent something else to worry with.

The best part of this time of the season is I can quit hating the other SEC schools and start pulling for everyone in the bowl games. I think AU gives any opponent fits. Same with LSU.

of course, that does not apply to UT--hating the Vols is ALWAYS in season!
