It appears that Daniel Alfredsson could suit up for the Senators when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.
The Senators captain was at practice on Friday and said that he was day-to-day with an injured hip flexor.
"I started feeling it in the first yesterday and then I aggravated it on the first shift in the second period," Alfredsson said. "We'll see how it reacts to treatment and go from there."
Alfredsson left Thursday night's game in the second period for precautionary reasons. Last season, he missed five games with a similar injury, but is hopeful this injury isn't as bad.
"It's just soreness. I can't do too much right now," Alfredsson said. "Hopefully it responds well to the treatment I have been getting last night and today and we'll see how it is tomorrow."
Alfredsson, who saw his 11-game point streak was snapped Thursday, has 29 goals and 31 assists in 45 games this season and ranks fifth in the NHL in total points.
Unlike injured teammate Dany Heatley, Alfredsson doesn't expect to miss the All-Star Game.
"I don't think so," Alfredsson told the media. "I hope it's just a couple days and it will be fine."
