Coming off of Bomar's arrest last week, these are the kind of things that tell you OU may be getting back into form:

Peterson misses classes, won't practice Tuesday

By George Schroeder

NORMAN - Oklahoma tailback Adrian Peterson did not practice Monday and will not practice today while serving a penalty for missing classes.
OU coach Bob Stoops said Peterson would play Saturday at UCLA.

But Peterson, a sophomore, has run afoul of the OU athletic department?s class attendance policy, which was instituted this fall. Further absences could result in penalties, including suspensions from games.

According to Kenny Mossman, OU?s associate athletic director for communications, if a student misses more than three classes in one subject, an escalating penalty phase kicks in. After an unspecified number of absences, the student is not allowed to practice. At some further point in the escalation, absences would result in suspension from competition.

Peterson has not reached that point. Though it was uncertain Monday night whether he would start against UCLA, Stoops said in a statement issued by OU he would play.

?We anticipate that he will play in this week?s game and that this matter will be behind us after Tuesday?s practice,? Stoops said in the statement.

OU officials aren?t sure how many other schools have such a policy, which is designed to encourage class attendance.

Peterson, the Heisman runner-up as a freshman last season, rushed for 220 yards and propelled OU to a hard-fought 31-15 victory over Tulsa last Saturday

Talk about a line change if Peterson misses more classes and gets suspended (like Stoops would EVER sit him down this season).

Anybody out there have basket weaving with Adrian? Sure would like to know if he misses more classes before the bookies do.

Good thing no Horn player has ever missed a class (or been caught with two quarterbags of weed, coming back from a field trip to the Texas state pen). Otherwise, they'd be getting held out of practice, too.

Peterson misses A class, gets in trouble for it, and you idiots spin it into a negative for the OU coaching staff. Unbelievable.

You Horn fans just REALLY have a problem with the whole 'glass houses' concept.

Wait a minute, so first you were saying one of OU's players drank a beer ar somebody's house and now one of their players isn't going to class? I can't believe college kids doing either one of those. Man they sure are running a bad program over there in Norman

Give me a freakin break.

Ok. Would you rather I post the 12 Aggie football arrests in the last year, or is that an everyday college thing as well?

My personal favorite of course is the guy caught not once but twice for indecent exposure whacking off to coeds he called up to his truck.
