I like the All Star game! I don't like how the winner gets to pick home field for the World Seris but I like to watch all the really good players play together.

When I was kid this was one of the biggest game of the year. All those great players on the field together. But you have to remember that was one of the few times we actually got to see those great players from another town play. We saw our hometown players of course, and we got to see a little of players in our league play when they played the home team. But coming from an American Leauge city I never got to see the National Leauge stars play. Maybe on Saturday afternoon they would have a game but who was home watching tv on Saturday afternoon back then? They had highlight show with Mel Allen once I week but that was it.
Today we can see these guys wheneven we want and, sadly I think,a lot of the glimmer has been washed off our heros.
