EDIT: got it. you mean they've had 2 in the top ten every year since 2000. I see.

why not go back to 99? Because there was only 1 pac-10 team in the entire top 25 with Oregon at #19. I see.

the bad thing for all the usc haters is that the trojans coach isn't going anywhere, and the recruits just keep on coming....

Glad you corrected yourself. We are not in the 90's anymore so I started it since 2000! ;)

My sig is based on facts, and those who call the Pac 10 weak I think are delusional. :yup

You are right about USC. Carroll is setting recruiting records at USC. Remember, this is only his 5th year at USC. In a way, he is still building USC and Carroll said he wants to win at least 5 National Championships while at USC. The guy is very motivated and out-recruits the entire country despite having accomplished more than everyone. His specialty is convincing 5-star recruits to come to USC and compete being backups! 5-star recruits normally are good enough to be big contributors can't miss prospects who can play anywhere in the country.

One can certainly argue Bush beat that vaunted Fresno State by himself. To argue they would have thee losses without him this years is absurd. Regardless, if that is the test Texas would probably have more than 3 losses without Young. Have you ever seen Matt Norgren play? I think USC can get by on Lendale White if they really have to. Did Vince Young not single handidly carry his team to wins over Ohio State, or Michigan last year in the Rose Bowl, or Oklahoma State this year, or the horrible Kansas game last year? Wasnt he only the 4th QB ever to have a 200/200 game (totaled over 500 yards) and it was barely a footnote?

Bush is in front solely because his team beat Notre Dame. Biig ****ing deal. I guess Drew Stanton should get voted second.

Reggie Bush is easily the most talented player in America. That doesnt mean he has earned the Heisman or the national synchonized blow job he has been getting.

What the hell are you talking about? Have you watched USC play or do they only carry texas games wherever the hell you live? Even SCOTTIE, who kisses the crap that comes out of USC's rear end would admit that USC probably wouldve lost 2 or 3 games without Bush. Bush has 75% of his TDs in three games. What games? ND, ASU, and FSU. Ironically the games his team need him the most. Does Young have 75% of his scores in the toughest games Texas played? NOPE, he beats up on lousy big 12 nobodies. Great athlete? Yea. Who means more to the sport of college football, more to his team, and is just as GREAT an athlete, if not BETTER?? BUSH BABY.

Maybe the world is Blowing Bush right now. Guess what? He deserves it. Just like Texas got a primetime slot against OSU in September, USC is SMART enough to change game times so Bush is on a national stage. Yeah he will get the heisman because he got 500 yards with the whole country watching. Yea he will win because he carried USC over ND in October. so what? Its a marketing ploy to get votes, dont fault USC for "selling" their player BETTER than LOUSY TEXAS.

I think ive seen about every possible game Bush has played since he has been at USC and I have never had the opinion he's got a bad attitude etc ... the penalty he got for slapping the kid's head in Fresno game was not a tek-9 type of act ... to make much of that is really nitpicking ...

I told my dad (huge fball fan) and bro in law who went to USC and is HUGE SC fan & has season tix etc, that USC in last 2 years would've lost min. 6 games if Reggie had gone elsewhere (I feel he's that irreplaceable) and they both totally agreed ...

Its human nature that many people don't see that or think RB isnt worthy of trophy etc --- right now the gambling sites dont agree that Young will win, last week they said he would ...

Like many of you (fossils), Ive seen Jim Brown play in person, Sayers, OJ, Dickerson, Bo, Dorsett, -- all the greats hundreds of times on TV, Barry, Emmit, Earl, etc etc .... But for turning a game around RB is up there with anyone ever ...

Lendale White is a damn fine back, but he's the replaceable one, not RB ... Feature White w/o RB, and USC loses some games IMO....

RB is eerily reminiscent of the Shaq effect I've talked about in hoops, he distorts the game and makes everyone else so much better .... RB comes out of backfield and is a threat and pressure on D like no other RB ive seen in ages (prob ever) ... hes tuff inside and can slash after 10 yds for 80 yard TDs and make it look like it's Pop Warner ball ... and I can feel that he's a competitor thru my TV screen---I love that about him.

Is Vince Young great, of course ...

Will RB win the heisman?

well like i said if you think not, take the +400 at pinnacle--thats a stealing price for naysayers...

I hate these articles on how Young should win the Heisman. :mj21:

An article on MSNBC stated that for Young to win the Heisman, he needs to play 4 quarters versus Texas A&M and destroy them. Texas A&M has the second to worst pass defense in all of collegiate football. (aggies are in the Big 12 conf. which is very very bad) Is this how the Heisman should be won? By running up the score against inferior competition? Then next week, Texas will play Colorado and Young will be asked to do the same. I hope voters are not stupid.

Of course I'll be really pissed if Vince Young wins it. Why? Becaue he doesn't deserve it over Bush and Leinart!

:mj07: I guess with that philosphy McGee should be the one nominated from Texas. He was easily the best QB on the field today.

i hope a few of the sagacious jumped on those alluring odds at +400 that reggie wouldnt win it ... seems Vince 14 rushes 14 yds today and overall ho-hum TX effort solidified his chances for the Trophy ... Just kidding, both players are great but Bush has it in his pocket now .... to disscount TX for a poor game and having no chance to beat USC due to aggie game is as big a mistake as saying USC sux or whatever twisted rationale many have used ... I think usc wins the game but the "lock" talk either way is pretty low brow (and tho I dont think ucla has a 5% chance, thats still no lock)

And to think I once thought you had a clue.

Now who has a clue? Everyone agrees that USC would no doubt have lost a couple in the last two years without Bush. Sorry that Texas tried their best by being on national TV and sucking horse d$ck against Gay and Men on Friday, but Young is no spotlight player like Bush is my friend.

It has nothing to do with the fact that Bush carried his team to victory over ND. You just dont get it. Stanton and the spartans ROLLED over ND. ND made it look close with a great 4th quarter effort. Bush CHANGED THE GAME with his plays against ND, putting USC in a position to win, and even getting an ASSIST on the last play of the game.

And you say kickoff yards shouldnt count for the heisman?? Dont accuse me of not having a clue pal. Lemme guess, if Young wasnt a RUSHING QB you would probably argue they shouldnt let rushing yards count either?? Give it up bro, like I said, Bush won the Heisman at Notre Dame stadium. If there was the slightest inkling of a doubt, it was erased two weeks against FSU. Better luck next year, but please stop bein bitter about this one....

Cant wait to hear you cry next year when Brady Quinn gets it instead of young :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

Was this intended as a JOKE?? :mj07:

I'm pretty sure they're only handing out the 2005 Heisman based on the 2005 stats. I'm sure Vince young was GREAT last year, but I'm with the voters when I say WHO CARES?

Maybe they should consider his pee wee football career too, if the race is as close as you mistakenly suggest

Since when is kickoff return yardage inconsequential? Maybe at USC it isn't a big deal because their offense doesn't need a short field to score. But return yardage, whether kick off or punt, is certainly not unimportant. Why do you see specialists for these positions in the NFL if it doesn't make a difference?

Ferd-

the guy averaged what 20 yards a return? Unless there was a big change in the last week he wasnt even in the top 100 in the nation in kickoff returns. Just getting to do 7 of them in a game doesnt suddenly make 160 yards in returns impressive. Do it in 2 or 3 and get back to us.
