Jays down 1 btm 10 and you have bottom order batting a buck apiece and you have 3-1 count 0 outs and you dont give guy take sign....next batter 2-0 1 out and you dont fing make him throw a strike. You need a base runner i just dont understand. Maybe my logic is all wrong and I am an idiot but 3-1 leadoff down one should be an automatic take and 2-0 1 out should be an automatic take and you try to turn over to top order:shrug:

AL baseball is just swing away and hope to score some runs. Teams try to manufacture runs and there is strategy involved in NL games. You can have a chimp coach in the AL. No pinch hitters, no double switches. just make a few bullpen moves and the game is over. I hate seeing guys swing away in situations like that. If a pitcher is struggling to throw strikes and you're not a great hitter to begin with take a few pitches and make him earn the out.

Yeah, I agree. I think they kind of mailed it in a bit after that top of the 10th. How demoralizing was that? You just can't give up a HR in that situation if you're Downs. Inexcusable. 2 outs, nobody on, and you give up a HR to the #9 hitter? Wow. I didn't have money on the game but was watching it and I really couldn't believe my eyes...

Where it is real F ing COLD
I can see on the 3 - 1 count with no out but with 1 out and a 2 - 0 count I want my guys swinging away if they have HR power. If no HR power than take.. Soria is one of the best closers in the game and a 2 - 0 count maybe the best pitch you are going to get from him..

Did not see it so I can't be completely objective here, but on 2-0 or 3-1 you should sit dead on a pitch and if you get it swing if not take.

I don't know, if it was the middle of the order I would agree with you guys but as the OP said it was the bottom part of the order. With a guy like Soria on the mound the odds of them getting a hit is pretty small, even if they're ahead in the count.

I think you have to try to draw a walk in that situation, then play small ball and bunt the runner over to 2nd (if the leadoff man gets on that is). As was already mentioned though, the AL tends to be more aggressive than the NL.

Toronto bullpen strikes again. They never seem to hold on,only time they itch decent is when the game is out of hand.Terrible in pressure situation.

No one in the NL plays small ball well, not to mention the AL, no one can bunt in either league it is gross.

Completely agree. And trying to get a runner in from 3rd with less than 2 outs is usually a pretty comical adventure as well.
