first there are people who have broken the law demonstrating on monday for rights.....exactly what rights are they entitled to

imo,american citizens who are siding with this are promoting people breaking the law....

we are a country of law....if people condone this by saying this is a "minor" violation...we'll have people looking to break other laws that seem "minor" as well.....

this whole issue really pisses me off & to top it off....

i now heard that the crooked mexican legislation yesterday passed some kind of thing saying that they support these demonstrations & will be in calif. on monday to show support...

I agree with you about 98%. The other 2% of me knows we are on a gambling discussion board, so even people here who don't gamble on sports (like me) are somewhat condoning illegal behavior because we see it as minor.

My parents are worried, they have a cross country flight Monday to get to one of their retirement cruises in Florida. They need cab drivers, airport personnel, bell hops, etc etc. ... they are screwed.

There's a way to take care of this problem. But do we have the balls to do it. Starting with our government. Because some of what ImFeklhr said is dead on.

We all break gambling laws because they are poorly written (at least in most people's opinion). They are too intrusive into a person's personal right to do what they want with their money and their time on the Internet.

Obviously immigration laws are different, but the reasons they are broken so flippantly are largely the same. The laws are poorly written because we have a massive demand for cheap, unskilled labor that is most effectively filled by new immigrants from Central and South America. The people who actually break the laws are just responding to market forces, that's all.

In my humble opinion one thing that seems to be overlooked here is the need to raise legal immigration limits. Why are we keeping people out who are here to help us? Let's employ more border guards, invest in advanced technology to secure the borders and develop a way to hold employers who hire illegals accountable. But let's also get realistic about what our immigration thresholds should be and stop grandstanding on the impractical issues of deporting millions and calling them felons.

Illegal behavior? I don't know about you guys but i'am legal, behavior and all (Nevada). Illegals knew when they crossed the border they were breaking the law. If i want to drive a truck but don't have a CDL, and i drive a truck for 20 years and get stopped for any reason can i tell the cop that i have been driving for 20 years so i think the DMV should give me a CDL, what's going to happen to me? I'am going to jail! The US should build a wall, fine employers who hire illegals and change the law that anyone born here in the US becomes a citizen, to if you are born here and your parents are US citizens then you are a citizen, if your parents are not, you are not. This will push people to apply for citizenship and the rest, deport them. The problem will take care of itself.
