So. Cal
I know the stats....I go to every Holiday Bowl....

the dog covers and usually wins....the games are high scoring....blah blah blah

however, take away last years game when a depleted Cal team got hosed by Mack Brown and his politicing.....the dog is usually the pac-10 team playing the "mighty and tough" big 12 opponent

ua (ranked 4th) a dog to neb.....what?
asu vs ksu
oregon vs texas
uw vs texas
wsu vs texas (boy these guys play here alot :mj07: )

my point is, that the team that feels slighted (pac-10) usually wins and covers......this oregon team will play like the team slighted and will win the game .....i've seen ou a number of times and much like michigan yest, they just are a bad team this year despite improving as the year went on. oregon's defense is actually fairly decent and the thought of my money of bohmar makes me sick (as does the thought of my money on anybody named leaf, however he hopefully wont play much).......

i'll take the better team (this year), who's only loss is to sc, who is playing with a chip on their shoulder, with a large following vs the under-acheiving team, that has come up short vs every good opponent they've faced this year.

I think it is a tough game to cap. Strength of Oregon D is their DL and weakness is back 7. OU doesn't have a potent passing attack. If, and that is a big IF, the Oregon DL can contain Peterson, then Oregon might win by double digits. OU D looked like they never seen a wide open sophisticated passing attack in last years Orange Bowl. OU gave up 41pts to UCLA this year @RB. Oregon has a potent offense as well. Even more spread out than USC and UCLA. Oregon WR's are extremely athletic. Oregon also has some solid RB's so they are balanced but they lack a dominant OL. The 2nd string QB for Oregon is preventing me for backing the Ducks. But he has some experience now. ASU 2nd string QB looked great against Rutgers. Pac 10 is a QB machine conf. On flip side, CO 2nd string QB looked like $hit.

Oregon prob. is the best offense OU will see this year. OU def. isn't the best offense Oregon has seen. Maybe advantage Oregon. I do think it will be high scoring game.

Tough game to cap. I am def. excited to watch it.

yes usc....i will be shocked if oregon scores less than 13 tonight

oregon qb situation is a ? as leaf is never a name you want to back and dixon is more of a runner than a passer

dont forget that oregon has payback on their mind from getting drilled last year in norman which to me totally throws out the "oregon doesnt want to be here" b.s. that i keep hearing as a reason to back oklahoma............like ou had their sights set on the holiday bowl....

in the end most teams show up to play in bowl games

(i will say however that ucla is a team likely to mail it in......from an undefeated season to a rout at arizona to a destruction at sc to el paso..........good luck with motivation dorrell......fortunately they get a team in northwester, thats just as bad on defense so ucla should be able to score which may eventually excite them)

Oregon is arguably one of the top 5 teams in the NCAA

OU has won 5 of their last 6 games to get back on track and is most likely a much better team that got rolled earlier in the year by UCLA (definitely a step behind Oregon)

Oregon has probably heard so much "they don't want to be there" talk that it is starting to get under their skin

OU, for the most part, is a one dimensional offense. They are going to ride Peterson until he breaks. If he doesn't have a 200+ rushing game, the Sooners won't win

I see it being close for a half and Oregon pulling away in the second for a double digit win

Should be a fun game. Keep in mind I think Usc is the best team in the country and beats Texas handily, I think the Pac Ten needs to offer tackling and toughness as a class.

These teams play pussy defense. All of them

Look at Asu and Cal so far in the Bowls.

Yes block, USC defense is the best in the Nation because their Offense is their defense. Thats why Big 12 teams can't stay with USC, there is no defense that can shut them down and their is no Offense that can keep pace. All USC's defense has to do to be effective is, slow the other team down. You can't put OK or any other team in the same sentence with USC when you are logically trying to compare teams, games and outcomes. USC's defense does not win games for them, It's their ability to score on any possession.

asu is one of the worst defenses in all of football (as is ucla) so that effort wasnt a surprise, although they did make all the necessary adjustments in the second half and held rutgers to 3fg until garbage time (unfortunately that's also known as cover time)

cal....what was wrong with them???.....didnt they hold down byu most of the game and let up 14 points in the last quarter (and 7 in the last few minutes)

oregon is about on the same level as cal and sc has the most athletes on defense......if you're looking for a defenseive improvement from ucla you're not gonna get it.

You're reaching on that one Scotty. Granted OU did lose both of those games, although they would've covered the 3 against TT. Flip a coin on this one if you ask me, but it seems like a lot of action is going on this game. Public seems to be on OU, which usually means good news for the ducks. I think the ducks will be ready to play.

I don't like either team here, but the good news is one of them has to lose.

I think that Oregon is the right side as well. They're playing with a big chip on their shoulder which should help to keep them focused for this game. Oklahoma will rely heavily on the run, but Oregon's run defense has been solid - giving up only 11 rushing TD's and allowing only 134 ypg all year.

In addition, bowl teams not favored by more than 10 points off a regular season ATS win of 40+ points are 6-1 and 7-0 ATS vs. opponents not off a road underdog SU loss since 1980, beating the spread by nearly 15 points a game on average. Last night Nebraska qualified for this system and came away with the SU win. Good luck either way.

If Oklahoma wins this game as I think they will, It will inspire more false hope for Tx backers and you will see the line in the big game drop and pull all that sucker money in right up until game time. I believe the out come of this game will effect the money on the BIG ONE .

Yes 2-0

Oregon has a bunch of renegades on their squad but are fast and athletic. I think they win by 7 or more unless OU gets some nice breaks. But what scares me about Oregon is their mental game which may or may not be there. Small play for me, but should be interesting game.

I made an error. I meant 2nd best offense. Texas offense for right now I put ahead of Oregon. I def. take Oregon O over Texas Tech.

c'mon, i bellieve in the best defense is a good offense...that's what teams say when their defense stinks...and vice versa...like the ravens of a few years ago...the best offense is a great defense! still doesn't say anything about the defense they will play tonight...oklahoma hasn't been the beast they normally are, but still head and shoulders above anything the pac ten has had to offer!
