I can?t blame the flight attendants and other employees of American Airlines for being royally ticked off. They vote for large wage and benefit concessions to try to keep their employer afloat, only to find out that the very executives who were asking them for those concessions were busy planning large bonuses for themselves and finding ways to make their pensions bankruptcy-proof. Now the flight attendants want to rescind their vote. Hell, they probably should have just walked off the job.

Yes, I?m a capitalist. I love economic freedom. I realize that free enterprise is the one economic system that has done more than any other to increase the standard of living and quality of life of hundreds of millions of people around the world. Any system, though, can be abused. And by any imaginable standard asking your employees for wage and work-rule concessions while accepting huge bonuses and guaranteeing your own pension is abuse. Bluntly stated, the corporate officers responsible for this outrage should be fired.

I'm just pissed at AA because I received an itenirary change in the mail yesterday for my honeymoon. I now have to be at the airport at 7:30 am the day after our reception. We will not land at our destination until 11 pm. That is bullshit! I can't call up and say, "Hey, I want a new flight" without heavy penalties, but they can change it at any time. The lady on the phone when I called said that there would probably be more changes before the trip came aorund! Do what!

They were showing so many CEO's on the news today. These dudes making 20/30 million. And yes even more. But there companies are down 15/20% and even more. Stock holders lost there ass with many. Hey they got to vote them out. Problem is so many of these self serving ass holes sit on each other boards and keep voteing them selfs in. I hate to even mention what party many gave much money to. Are they hoping for a safty net from DC.

Business as usual. Out here we have the wonderful Southern California Edison company. Yes - the same ones who paid $20 million to have their name put on Angel Stadium. Customers have had to bail them out of their financial difficulties, though a convenient transaction to another entity resulted in most of the loss. Despite the fact that they were bailed out and are still in debt, Edison executives were awarded millions in bonuses. Of course, in sunny California, we have more pressing problems like fighting for the survival of the San Diego Fairy Shrimp, no relation to MJ's own The Shrimp. Seems as though Federal Wildlife officials have decried that the Fairy Shrimp needs more than 6,000 acres of habitat to ensure its survival. Not surprisingly, the Center for Biological Diversity says that 6,000 acres isn't enough. In case you wondered, the Fairy Shrimp is comparable to brine shrimp sold as sea monkeys.
