My 8yo son, Andrew, has decided to captain a team to raise awareness of heart disease. His team will participate in the New Orleans American Heart Walk in November.

Andrew is a healthy boy today, but last summer he had open heart surgery. My wife, family and friends struggled with the thought of it, but he made it much easier on us with his positive attitude. He never complained, kept telling everyone not to worry about him, and his main concern before they wheeled him in was that i hold his mom's hand during the surgery "so she won't be sad" while he's gone.

I knew then he has the goods to be a major difference maker in this life. A few hours later he was out of surgery, less than a week later he was home and two months later he was given a clean bill of health. Doctors told me his heart is as strong as anyone else and aside from annual cardiologist visits, his ordeal was over. He promptly jumped back on the baseball field with his 7uAAA team and they won a local fundraiser tournament that weekend. From that point forward, his life has been back to normal, but he apparently didn't forget.

He recently found this organization online and asked if he could form a team to help other people who have heart disease or defects far worse than his own. I would've probably picked a different charity, but the boy's heart is in the right place, so I called and formed his team immediately.

Please consider supporting Andrew's efforts to raise awareness of heart disease using the following link...Thanks

Team Andrew

Jack/IE please send to dumpster without worries if innapropriate.
