An afternoon with Box and One.........

Keyser....thank you for the nice comments.I feel the same way about you and had a great time on Sunday.It is amazing you can come to a place like this in MJ's and we all have the same interests.After talking and sharing stories with Keyser it was like I have known him for the past 15 years.
I know you guys here in MJ's have golf outings and have gone to super bowl parties together. That must be awesome to put a face and personalty to someone on this "blue board". I have met a few people here and its always a great experience.
I intend to see Keyser again in Feb when I go back to Orlando.Joshnaudi is in Austin and I'll hook up with him.Think there are a few of you here that are from the Austin area..that would be great if some of us could meet. I intend on going to at least 6 or 7 Texas hoops games and a few Texas St games..also will make my way up to Denton to see my North Texas...

The weather is so nice down here.I peek everyday and look at my NY weather..high of 41 and a low of 28,,and the winter hasn't really started yet.
I played racquetball all spring and summer in NY with my buddies.Played 3 times a week and had so much fun..There is hardly any racquetball in Austin. One place has it so I joined and play in a league. I have played for 2 weeks and my record is 1-17...I knew I was in trouble when I played my 1st game...I"m warming up with this guy and after about 3 minutes I'm ready...He says he's not warmed up yet as he is hitting backhand killers in the corner..after a few more minutes I ask if he is ready..he says he hasn't warmed up on the right side yet....wow.. I'm in trouble...beats me 15-3 with no mercy..play another guy right after...15-2....another guy 15-10 and the last guy 15-12....Now I know I'm 62 and these guys are all in their late 20's,30's and 40's but not one has any mercy in kicking my ass. The way the league scoring is set up is to beat who ever your playing by a lot...I have to adjust also because I play doubles and this is singles....
On Tuesday nite I'm in a bowling league with my son,daughter and wife..we are the only ones that rent shoes and don't have our own balls..my wife has her own shoes and my son has his own ball...we are in 14th place out of 38 teams and last nite played the 4th place team...its a handicap league and we got 174 pins before the 1st ball was rolled...by the 7th frame the other team was tied with us...and we lost by 110 pins.. the last time I bowled I kept my own score....maybe 30 years ago...but we had a blast....
So between racquetball and bowling this New Yorker is getting his ass busted in the Lone Star State..and enjoying every minute of it...

Hey Box, I am right on your way to Denton brother. I am in Fort Worth just off
the highway you take to get to North Texas so let me know when you plan on coming up this way. Maybe we can meet for lunch or a beverage.

FDC..that sounds good...I know at some point 35 divides towards Denton instead of Dallas...is there a Ghiradelli's in Fort Worth. lol....I'll get a hold of you before I come up..

In Downtown Disney they have a Ghiradelli's...the original is in San Fran I think....as the principal of my High School for 10 years our senior trip is always going to Disney and Universal in Orlando....the seniors select what administrator will accompany them every year...so in the 1st 7 years yours truly went every year...it was fun in the beginning but did get tired after awhile...had to miss 2 years and then went on my last one...that was the one where they took a picture of me sleeping sitting up on a bench in Animal Kingdom.About 25 seniors got behind me waving,giving me rabbit ears,etc..
It was the greatest picture that many made copies of when we got back.." Here is Mr Box our chaperon " About 3 weeks after that picture was taken 3 senior girls were killed in a car accident...the girl giving me rabbit ears,the other one at my knees and another to my right...we go from a high in our lives to something so tragic.Only 3 weeks before graduation...
anyway.. we all ate ice cream at Ghiradelli's every year..the greatest banana splits...so before I met keyser I had an ice cream soda with think syrup...no way I could drink a beer....

I don't know of a Ghiradellis in FTW but that's not to say there isn't. There are some good ice cream places but none like that. Sucks.

Johnny Bench is a major league douche bag. George Foster very nice guy but talks like a girl. In addition, Kajana Carter was a prick to little kids. Sorry to intrude on this thread as this was not the topic.
