A friend of mine lost her husband and her cadillac health insurance after COBRA ran out. She started shopping for health care. Her gross income is $47,000.00 & she is 58 years old. The only policy she coudl afford is with a whopping $1,200.00 a month & a $6,000.00 deductiable. This is a trimmed down basic coverage package. Her health insurance payment is higher than her mortgage. This lunancy is why we are headed into another recession. She doesn't qualify for any government subsidy and is like millions of others caught between a rock & a hard place.
