baseball is a difficult game to play with both hands around your neck. Appears that's how the angels are going to go about it.
No question Lester stepped up big, but Boston was ripe for the taking. As suspected, Lowell did nothing, Drew did nothing, Ortiz did nothing, even possible MVP Pedroia did nothing. Boston before the 9th inning was a collective 1-15 with runners in scoring position, that of course was the Bay homer, which in itself was ridiculous. Bay had looked about as bad as a professional could his previous 2ab' s striking out both times swinging at pitches in the LH batters Box. With 2 outs, lackey pitches around youk to get to Bay, then throws him a 90mph letter high fastball.

Somebody explained why Sciossa didn't run for Vladimir after his hit in the bottom 8th? Why wasn't Willets brought in to steal second? What was Guerrero doing getting thrown out by 40 feet at third base? Why didn't Hunter advance to second while Guerrero was being thrown out at third?
Sciossa screwed other things as well, Bay hits LHP in mid 100 s, yet he takes out Oliver, for a RHP BAY promptly doubles.
Boston didn't offer much, but they are the defending champions, getting played like it was a Arizona cactus league game. Can't quite figure that out. Definitely Anaheim Bills.

he didn't run for guerrero because it's a one run game. you don't take your power out in a one run game.

willets can't just magically steal second. and he wasn't going to steal second because it then takes the bat out of hunters hands, maybe not an intentional walk, but certainly nothing to hit with kendrick on deck.

no idea what guerrero was doing. you'll have to ask him, but he doesn't speak english so good luck. The 3rd base understand sign language i guess.

i watched the play a few times and i don't think hunter could have easily taken 2nd. he might have been able to, but it would have been really close and two baserunning outs in one play is bad enough down one at the time.

as for shields, you can't always play lefty righty matchups. shields has been the best hold guy in baseball the last 3 years. yeah, he got rocked, but bay had never seen him before and you got one good inning out of oliver which is more than i would of imagined with him.

red sox no doubt were the better team last night and lester was great. lackey wasn't bad either, but the home run pitch was a cookie.

i don't think scosscia lost the game or that francona won it. i think the better team that night won and sciosscia didn't lose it, but that's just my opinion.

Under a mask.
As easily as Vlad was thrown out, there was no way Hunter was taking second.Pitching wins big game during post season more so than not.

Lester stepped up big.As these games move forward would think big name guys will have slumps from alot of teams.

Hows Vlads overall postseason avg.?How bout A-Rods.Pitching is the name of the game IMO.The Sox proved it last nite.
