Gardy, Gardy, Gardy, what up dude? Santana was crappo last night and then lets first two guys on in 7th and you don't go to the pen?? Where in the f**ck is Kyle Lohse? The guy was solid all year and you don't bring him in? Santana's been a dog his whole career and chokes during his biggest moment. Why did he pitch to Kennedy???

Lights out for the Twinkies...great season...they proved no match for the Angels...they hit home runs while we hit sac flies -- that's the difference in these two clubs...

Man, the Ed sounds just like a raucous Yankee Stadium!
except they're chanting "Darin Erstad" instead of "Derek Jeter". LOL.

Done potatoes. Scratching my head still why Gardy wouldn't use a fresh Kyle Lohse instead of the tire meatball duo of Santana/Romero. Maybe Lohse has the flu or something? Can't fathom it...

ALCS recap/final thoughts

ALCS recap/final thoughts

Game 5: DISNEY'S ANGELS 13, TWINKIES 5 :toast:

Well, not much I can add to the final game of the series, except that the darn thing is finally over. In the end, Minnesota did not play up to the level they're capable of. This was not the Twins teams I remember following during the regular season and in the LDS. Yeah, I know some of the blame has got to go to Gardenhire. There were occasions he failed to push the right buttons.

But I gotta think the credit for stopping them has got to go to Anaheim skipper Mike Scioscia and the execution of his pitching staff, as well as timely hitting and stellar defense.

Minny got their extra base hits, but no home runs and only one SB. Their bullpen failed when it counted most, while Anaheim's showed why they're rated #1 in the AL. Otherwise, there was a lot of great pitching by both teams in this series.

Hope everybody enjoyed following the the ALCS. As for me, 5 for 5 in series plays. (In the postseason I tend to rely more on statistical handicapping, and less on trends.)

What a heck of a win by the Anaheim Angels, and a fantastic comeback from the disaster of a season ago. They certainly deserved it.

As Vin Scully would say, "Good night everybody!" :D

Thanks LET'S EAT. I hope you enjoy attending World Series Game 2.

And thanks to those who contributed to this thread. I probably threw a lot of stats out there, but again, stats and matchups are key especially in the postseason, when EVERY game counts.

Twins are a very good team with solid pitching and excellent defense. They were just overwhelmed by an Anaheim team that's hitting on all cylinders in every facet of the game.

Credit Scioscia and Bud Black for a job well done managing that pitching staff. The sight of hitting coach Mickey Hatcher and his rally cap reminded me of something out of the Bad News Bears!:p
