Navy -14 over Army ****** strong play
As everyone knows one of the greatest rivalries will be played today.Navy has dominated the past 7 years. And that will continue today.Army has a freshman qb who is still learning. He is a decent runner but his arm is very suspect. He has a 6'10 WR to throw too but Navy is ready for that.Armys biggest problem is they cannot sustain drives. There option attack has slow RB's.They can't get to the outside. So its easy for teams to stack the line and Army can't move the ball. They do rank 13th in the nation in rushing but 115th out of 120 teams in total offense and 112th in scoring. That is there problem.Plus there kicking game is avg and there special teams are bad.Covering kicks is a nightmare.
Armys OL is small and still learning.Last yr most of them played another position so it has been a shuffle of different players.Wr's have 6'10 270 pound Villanueva and he has gotton so much press. He's good but not a gamebreaker. With Steelmans inconsistent passing he is a good target.
Army defense is pretty good. There strength is the DL.McNary is a stud. The problem is LB Anderson there best player is out for the season.Big time blow and his replacement is a freshman.DB's are avg, better in run defense then covering.
Navy has Dobbs a good qb who has 23 rushing Td's this year,2nd in the nation. But what makes him dangerous is they can throw the ball. When teams jam the line he can put it in the air.A key to this game will be when Army's db's come up for run support Dobbs will put it in the air.Navys run attack is up the middle with Dobbs and there fullback. They will pound it there, then run counters, etc.Navy has 2 good Wr's that avg 18 and 23 yds per catch. When Dobb throws it he makes it count.Navy defense is good esp having 4 senior LB and there DB's can hit.Think this defense will be able to stop the weak Army offense.Lets not forget Navy defense did a great job in wins over Notre Dame and Air force and a close loss to Ohio St.
To sum all this up.Army has a slow backfield and rookie qb that can't pass. Its new option offense is still at the learning process.Army has fumbled 31 times this season almost tops in the nation.Army defense will have trouble stopping the fake pitches and runs up the middle or vice-versa.navy will be able to score and move the ball.Dobbs will hit his wr's a few times for big gains..maybe even a TD or two.
Army SP teams and kicking game are weak.
Navy has won the last 7 in a row covering most of them.
This game has only "smack" talk coming from the Army side. This week in our local paper series on the game..Armys LB Schaaf comparing the two schools said " Navy is "soft"...That has become the lockeroom poster board headine for Navy.Navy has won 14 straight games vs AF and Army.Dominated last yr 34-0..will do it again...Navy wins 35-10..35-14...its a cold day in Philly..army will lose a few fumbles.

If anyone can down load youtube..."hey navy missing anything" and "goat thieves" here in this post you will get a laugh...

I saw this and pasted it...kinda makes sense about this game and these kids that serve our country...although I think Navy wins by more then 2 td's we all know both teams are winners....

More than just a game
In 1999, Navy safety Gary Lane gave Smithsonian magazine a taste of the game's importance. "I saw players crying in the locker room, the toughest guys I knew just blubbering like babies after we lost. And hugging the Army team even though we don't know any of them. Army-Navy is like playing your brother. You play harder, but you share something because you know what the other guy has been through."

while we all respect what these guys do off the field this is truly unwatchable.....it's like two really bad high school teams from the early 80's playing each other.

personally i've accepted my navy loss and wont chase with these two teams in the second half....navy -7.5 sounds sweet....until one realizes they actually have to SCORE two times (at least).....no thanks, but good luck.

My sentiments exactly. Would rather just live with one loser than 2. Army playing inspired ball. The under looks much more appealing but I am staying way away!

You really think that. With all the tradition and what the game means to men on the field And both branches of the armed forces I love watching the game no matter the brand of football. Dont know how you equate to a bad highschool game.

undersized
slow
90% running plays
pulling teeth to complete a pass
fullback dive or qb dive for 3 yards
no big plays
clock never stops
15 yard punts in the air with 25 yard rolls
40 yard field goals are waaaay too long

sounds exacly like my high school games in the 80's

Igot it at 16 this am. 14 was found when it first came out. I don't know if a 14 could be found today anywhere:shrug:

Last I saw of 14 was last night on Betjamica. Did drop back to 14.5 a little before game time. I got it at +15. It did come out at 14 and was at that number for several days.
