Don Meredith was a famous Monday-Night Football man. With Cosell and Gifford. He hated baseball and was pretty open about it. I remember him saying "Take two and hit to right" one time. That was his knowledge of baseball. And anyone that for real takes two and hits to right won't last long these days.

JW - what can I say? Not many people even know what this expression means anymore. And it is perhaps a sad reflection on modern ball that this type of play is not done any more...simply attempting to advance a runner for the benefit of getting a runner to scoring position...
