Seems like everybody bitches and moans like little girls about USC's defense. Meanwhile they go about business winning game after game and demolishing Iowa and Oklahoma in the biggest of games. I guess that defense hasn't caused any problems as long as the offense scores more than the defense gives up. But the crying will continue again even after USC's defense gives up less to Texas than the Texas defense will give to USC. Then it will start all over again next year. Keep believing the BS line that defense wins football games in college ball.

im quick to give usc all the credit they deserve. theyre the best team in college football the last 3 years without question. but c'mon man, you cant defend giving up 40+ to a non-bcs team on your own field. i agree a lot of guys on here are jealous of usc's success. but at the same time, as a west coast guy, you cant make excuses for a defense that has been a sieve at times.

Agreed.......some of his stuff makes sense. But that comment that he spewed sure was a bunch of chit.

I just cant get out of my mind the year that Ohio State won the National Championship. It was the second trip to the NC game in as many years for Miami. EVERYONE said how Miami was invincible that year, and I personally didnt see it. I thought OSU was a very good team with a dominant defense. Definatly good enough to beat Miami. In my opinion, Miami (in the FIRST year that they went to the NC game and won) was a DOMINANT team, The second year, they were lacking something.

Well, I think that is where USC is right now. Really really good, but lacking that something. They are vulnerable this year and as soon as they get TRULY tested, they will lose. I am just hoping that Texas is that team that can put them to the test. I just have my reservations about the Big 12......even though Texas beat OSU in our own house this year...I just dont know.

Until they change the rules so that a team that SCORES THE MOST POINTS can lose, it is a moot point.

No reasonable person would ever say that USC is a cinch to beat Texas. Nor would any reasonable person think that USC's defense ( the only crappy defense I know that has helped their team to such an incredible streak) will stop Texas. The more cogent point, and the entire analysis of the game has to be how many points will Texas give up to USC? if you think the Horns will hold USC under 30 or 40, then I imagine you think you have a winner. And you may be right. But it is a little tiring to hear the same old, same old about a team that has had 3 of the best years back to back in the modern history of college football.

#1 you have good reason to have reservations about the Big 12.

#2 USC might be lacking something because they have been so fawking banged up all year on defense. Geesh. Jan. 4th USC should have the healthiest D all year.

#3 USC has been tested playing 5 of their first 7 games on the road. USC has been tested playing @Oregon, @ASU, @ND (rival), @CAL, Fresno St. and in 2 weeks vs UCLA (rival).

Could you say USC was tested against Arkansas? Arky has competed well in the SEC but was creamed against USC. So if they compete with the elite teams in the SEC and nationaly ranked teams in the country, i guess you could argue USC was tested against Arkansas as well.

My question is, if you don't think USC has been tested, WHO THE FAWK HAS BEEN TESTED IN THE COUNTRY?
