Andrew Bogut hasn?t had very good luck throughout his NBA career when it comes to injuries, a fact that was once again made all too clear again following an MRI on Thursday. The Milwaukee Bucks announced their center has a fractured ankle that will force the Australian big man to be out ?indefinitely.?

Bogut didn?t sound optimistic when talking to the Journal Sentinel about the injury on Wednesday night, but he did opine that he didn?t believe he broke a bone.

?It wasn?t good,? Bogut said. ?I knew when I came down I was in some trouble. Keeping optimistic, everything?s fine with the X-ray, but that?s to be expected. I know I didn?t break a bone, but tomorrow?s the day of reckoning where I go under the MRI machine and find out my fate.?

Fractures are typically worse than a clean break, according to those in the know, but either way this is another bad break ? in the non-physical way ? for the Bucks center. Milwaukee general manager John Hammond released the following statement, courtesy of the team?s Twitter account.

?Andrew returned to Milwaukee this morning to be evaluated by Bucks orthopaedic physician, and to undergo a MRI exam on his left ankle,? Hammond said. ?The results of the MRI identified a left ankle fracture which will keep Bogut out indefinitely.?

It?s difficult to see the Bucks winning too much while Bogut is out as they?re already 0-4 in the four games he?s missed this season ? due to a family emergency that caused him to return to Australia ? and their back-up big men (Jon Brockman, Jon Leuer and Larry Sanders) haven?t exactly shown they?re cut out for full-time duty.

Hopefully Bogut?s able to make a full recovery sooner rather than later, for his sake as well as his team?s, as he attempts to rid himself of the bad luck he?s been forced to deal with several times already in his basketball career.

Bucks r toast. They were horible w/o him and not even that great with him. That's too bad. Would have liked to have seen them do something. Wtf is up with Captian Jack. He's been a dissapointment for them. Too bad soo sad. They will probably be a play against with many more games tc

Andrew "glass jaw" Bogut out again...what else is new? There goes a mediocre 8th place finish in the East. They need to blow this Bucks team up and start over. Well, this makes it easy for me to unload my Lakers tickets on Saturday.

As a Bucks fan, this is tough news to handle. The franchise is just so unpromising...our team is last in team value and being the small market that it is, we can't attract anyone to come play in Milwaukee unless we over pay for them (see Michael Redd).

It's easy to say get rid of Bogut, but who is gonna want to trade for him when they know he is this prone to injury? The guy is a solid defender and so-so on offense. He makes the Bucks better when he plays and opens it up on the outside, but w/o him, our wing players just don't get it done.

I was really excited when we got him as the #1 pick because we needed a Center big time. I didn't expect him to be a perennial all-star but definitely thought he was the best player for the Bucks to draft. Unfortunately there was no Dwight Howard or LeBron James to take #1...

They've really struggled building the team through the draft missing on lottery picks (Yi Jianlian and Joe Alexander come to mind) and it's just a constant make up of new veterans every year and just a shuffling of overpaid players trying to get a start on building for the next year.

The Bucks have a decision to make on what they want to do with Brandon Jennings. I feel like they either have to show him a mountain of money or he's walking to a big city.

It's really frustrating, but that's what it comes down to. I love the atmosphere in Milwaukee when the Bucks are in the playoffs, but it just doesn't happen enough.
