Well The banking industry been taking to many lessons from our Reb led Gov. Spend all you want don't have to pay your bills attitude of Bush administration is bad example. Right on down to American people. Lehman Brothers is broke. Just think poor suckers that work there. There stock was 30 bucks less then year ago. Now it's zero. Happy retierment. And we have those that want to tie the S/S to this system. This attitude must go out with next election our country can't take much more. And I'm not sure Mc Cain gets it. It looks like last liberial administration new how to balance budget. Funny how liberials are the ones that get it. Watch the market tomorrow and tell me how happy you are.

I'll have same feelings as when Enron-Worldcom- and all the others went down---and whose responsibilty was that? Administrations or the companies?

About the only failure you can directly tie a past pres & (wife) to --is Arkansas Savings & Loan ;)

--and on subprime debacle you might want to look up --Glass-Steagall Act.

"When Franklin Roosevelt took office, both the President and Congress knew the banking crisis demanded immediate action. The result was one of the crown jewels of the New Deal: the Glass-Steagall Act, officially known as the Banking Act of 1933. Glass made sure the bill forbid banks from getting into the investment business. In addition, the bill established the Federal Deposit Insurance Company, which protects our bank deposits."

When Bill Clinton gave that pen to Sanford Weill, it symbolized the ending of the twentieth century Democratic Party that had created the New Deal. Although the 1999 law did not repeal all of the banking Act of 1933, retaining the FDIC, it did once again allow banks to enter the securities business, becoming what some term ?whole banks.?

--and what say you?????????

Just trying to keep things in perspective Matt.

These wild comparisons and reasoning drive me bonkers.

Would be like me saying--only major bill Dems have sponsored was minimum wage--

Since dow hit all time high 7-19-07 and it went into effect 7-24-07 and been down hill every since--- both are true but totally illrelevent.

I love the way you question my patriotism....... thats what YOU PEOPLE do when you are wrong...I have a American flag in my house. It's the last thing I see when I leave, the first, when I get back.... I'm an American patriot..... You are a republican loyalist. Ask your children the difference.

Here is one for you Wayne. I will get into "Kenny" boy from Enron after work. Your myopic partinship is absurd.

The savings and loan crisis of the 1980s and 1990s (commonly referred to as the S&L crisis) was the failure of 747 savings and loan associations (S&Ls) in the United States. The ultimate cost of the crisis is estimated to have totaled around USD$160.1 billion, about $124.6 billion of which was directly paid for by the U.S. government?that is, the U.S. taxpayer, either directly or through charges on their savings and loan accounts[1]?which contributed to the large budget deficits of the early 1990s

Ronald Reagan is the right wing love affair.

During his tenure he:

Deregulated the Savings and loan Industry.

Destroyed the air traffic controllers union.

Doubled our National Debt..

Deregulation was never about loosening the grip of the powerful on the poor. Deregulation is the opposite. The deregulation crowd got a huge boost from R. Reagan. He deregulated everything he could get his hands on. Reagan left office before the shit hit the fan and after a prolonged period of growth fueled by borrowed money. The National Debt skyrocketed. Low taxes and high spending tends to do that. The collapse of the savings and loan industry happened later, on another President?s watch. We, the little people ate the bill for that. Neil Bush was bailed out. Reagan was never held to account.

--as I said 4 times now--by all accounts-- he was found innocent--and only one to volunteer to testify in civil court for the people.

I am beginning to think with your persistance on issue you really do think he was found quilty with the others. Maybe that explains your attitude.

As a friend I'm going to do my best to cheer you up--you just have to throw out what you been reading in liberal blogs/press and what your leaders-Obama-pelosi-reid been telling you past 4 years -and trust me on these and it will rid you of lots of that animousity.

When pelosi was telling you this was worst economy since great depression--we hit all time high shortly after.

We have not been in recession last 9 months as they tell you--in fact last 2 months have had 1 and 3 % growth respectively.

The tax cuts were not disasterous-in fact produced the greatest tax revenue in history.

-There was no civil war in Iraq'
-We did not lose war in Iraq.
--The surge was successful
--Our troops tagged cold blooded killers by murtha were found innocent.

Trust me--above- are all true-seriously.

mccain received liberal OJ justice..... you say he was found innocent, there was no trial......he got a pass from the other pigs at the troff......I have the same regard for pelosi and most liberals as I do for you.....I can't stand her, I rank her right along side of bush...........you can't believe mccain was innocent, can you ? I believe in tax cuts, just not the bush ones ....we need someone to cut taxes for working america......the surge is not successful because it can not be sustained.....things happen in war, I have never said our troops were cold blooded killers......what ever happens in this war , we do not win..... what do we win ???? at what cost ? I'm not saying we lose...... no one wins this war....a fight against terror can not be won with a conventional effort.................. I'll guess, every president including carter produced more rev than the president before him..... economy issues are way above your pay grade......most issues are way above your pay grade.......and yes, there was and is a civil war in iraq and it is muti layered..... you don't know how to respond to me..... the only card you play against opposition is , call someone a liberal...... not everyone against the present right is a liberal......some of us are patriots.......if you are for tax cuts, why not tax cuts for 95% OF Americans ???? lets just say Obama won't deliver on them..... Why hasn't maccain proposed them ??? why only cuts for those that make over 250K ? today we saw a financial institution that made it threw the great depression but could not sustain 8 yrs of bush..... The economy is great, right ???? Name one accomplishment for bush and cheney ?? I don't know how you can believe the economic #'s when you look around the block.....
