Love them, you can always google them in your local area. Another tip that I use is to google the singer or band to see how good they are. We have been to quite a few of them in DC, and there are some real decent ones. I always jump at the chance to go to one with a good act, even if it is going to mean an expensive night out.

I googled some spots in nyc my last visit. had a great time at 55bar. in Chicago , I love underground wonder bar for late night live music. I recommend both next time you're in the area...

Real good to know, have to plan a trip to NYC soon. My wife wants to go to the U2 concert up there, I have no choice but to go and I'm not a huge fan of them. I can't believe how much tickets are going for. I will look into 55bar when I'm there, always love a great jazz bar.

If I get up to Chicago this year, I will look into Underground Wonder Bar as well. Love that city and have lots of friends and clients that live there.

It isn't hard at all to find a blues/jazz bar in your neck of the woods. I was up there in 2011 and 2012 for the Jazz festival that falls right around April. Wow, what a good time.
