Since I'm not here to impress you with the size of my bankroll I can be comfortable telling you that I am not a high-roller, hence the reason for this question.

I realize I am really digging deep here so I would appreciate input from people who understand the game and what I'm asking about.

I'm no high-roller, but I do play a lot of hours when I can and as such I get some comps from the casino. The other day I got a $100 match play in the mail.

To use it I place it on the table along with a $100 bet of my own and if I win I get $200 in winnings. A $100 bet is a big bet for me at the craps table so I am wondering if I can free roll this somehow???

If I put the $100 match play coupon along with my $100 bet on the Pass line AND put $100 on the Don't Pass line am I free-rolling the casino for the $100 bet?

Meaning, if the Pass line bet wins I collect $300, my original $100 bet, the $100 winnings on my bet and the $100 winnings on the match play coupon. I lose the $100 for the don't pass line and thus profit $100 without really risking any money in the process.

If Don't Pass wins I collect $200, my $100 Don't Pass bet and the $100 winnings from that bet. I lose my match play coupon and the $100 I put on it so I am even, right?

My only real risk here is if a 12 hits on the come out roll as that will make the Pass line bets lose, but push the Don't Pass bets so I am at risk there. If the come out roll is a 12 AND the Don't Pass bet losses then I am out $200. I can insure against that by putting out a $10 Midnight bet on the come out roll which pays 30-1. All I have at risk is $10 to profit $90, right?

As if that's not confusing enough:

Can I take this a step further and guarantee a $40 win by placing my $100 match play and my $100 bet on the pass line and then placing $150 on the Don't Pass bet along with the $10 Midnight bet?

Assuming the come out roll is not 12 then I get $300 back if Pass wins (My $100, $100 profit and $100 match play profit) while laying out $260.

If Don't Pass wins I get back $300 (my $150 and the $150 winnings) while again laying out $260.

Am I missing something or would this work? I think I can play the Pass and Don't pass at the same time, right? Can I freeroll here?

Is craps the only game that you'd consider? If you're just looking for a hedge then there are a few better choices? Roulette for instance.

If you want to hedge.....play Baccarat......guaranteed 95 bucks minimum or 100 bucks max.

Then after that play Craps with your free money:SIB

Sorry, I do not see how this could work other than doubling your bet. Less some genius has a better solution:shrug:

I'm curious as to why you think it won't work?

If I just randomly bet $100 on the Pass line and $100 on the Don't Pass line I will break even EVERY TIME a 12 is not rolled on the come out roll.

The match play coupon is free money basically, IF it's a winner. If it's a loser then I am not out anything.

I guess penguins coupon is only for craps?....If he played baccarat he would not have to worry about the "12".

Is a game of chance, and what if a 12 is rolled.......If is the question.

It's 35-1 that a 12 is rolled on the come out roll so I'll take that chance.

Also, rolling a 12 pays 30-1 if you bet it so that is why I said I COULD also insure the come out roll by betting a $10 midnight bet.

If a 12 is rolled I lose the coupon, the $100 I put on the coupon and the $125 I put on Don't Pass for a net loss of $225 BUT I get the $310 for the midnight bet.

If it were all this easy, think they would shut the tables down by now.....

Yep..........that changes things a tiny bit, but you can still make a profit with no risk.

If you are allowed to bet on the banker with cash and use the coupon on the player you are good to go (don't have to worry about the "12" in craps). If you are not allowed to put cash on the banker then forget everything.

But if you are allowed to put cash on the banker then all you do is this........

-Put the 100 dollar coupon on player

-Put 100 dollars cash on the banker.

If banker hits you will walk away from the table with 195 dollars (95 dollar profit). They tear up the coupon and you are done.

If the player hits you get 100 dollars cash from the coupon and lose the 100 dollars you bet on the banker.

(If it ties nothing happens all bets voided)

See........no risk.:00hour

Odds of the banker winning........45.8597 percent
Odds of Player winning ..............44.6247 percent

Why mess with the "12" in craps:shrug:
