Jack should rename this the computer forum for idiots like me.
I need a laptop for business purposes. I bought an hp with vista, but my company's software isn't compatible so I returned it an hour later.
My question is: since everything has gone to vista, should I order a refurbished xp from dell and wait to buy a new comp. when the software catches up to vista, or go ahead and buy a nice dell with xp on it, or I have a relative that is an elect. engineer tell me to buy a comp. w/ vista and he would be able to remove vista and add xp for me.
Would like some feedback. I had one guy tell me that if I went backwards on the OS I would have all kinds of problems with drivers? What would you do if you were me? I'm basically showing life insurance illustrations and storing client files. Any memory and HD recommendations would also be helpful. I've been looking a the Dell Latitude it has road ready technology (whatever that means) and I can choose xp or vista. I do need something that is durable, as well. Anyone have a Latitude?
