I think I posted the first one in the wrong forum last time (politics), but I think it's more appropriate here. You can search that forum to find it if u want, it was really good too. These emails have even put this in more perspective for me. This young man is from BG. THanks.

Hey mom, I've been getting your packages, along with lots from other people. We've been real busy though,so I haven't had a whole lot of time to dig into them. I bet I have gotten six packages in the last three days. I want you to know I'll string up the Christmas lights you sent, should add a little cheer to the room. Lord knows we could use it too. Things have gone haywire here, and a few of my friends have been hurt. Nobody killed thank god, because you would've certainly thought it was somebody's time by the looks of things. We've lost a few guys to injuries, some of which are going back to the states. This is the first time my platoon has been light on men, and I'm having a hard time adjusting. We just got back from the airfield where we were going to see one of our privates before he flew out, but we missed him by an hour or so. We were all real disappointed. We had his gear for him to take, but we couldn't get it to him, so now all his stuff is on his bed, but he's nowhere around. Hopefully we'll get to see our other guys soon. Morale is pretty low right now, everyone is trying to rebound from the last couple of days. The problem is that we just keep on going, and it won't stop no matter what happens. Missions still have to be carried out. I guess thats just part of being a soldier.
Mom I know how much the power of prayer means to you, and I have a friend that could use every bit of help he can get. He was involved in a firefight early yesterday morning. He was shot in the neck and is going to be paralyzed. He's just a kid mom, only nineteen years old. His name is Brandon, and if you could pray for him and his family I would really appreciate it. He's in Germany right now and listed as stable, I'm sure he'll be coming home as soon as he is able. Just keep him in mind when you pray, or maybe bring him up in one of your prayer meetings for me, ok? I really appreciate it mom. I love you so much. I'm going to go to bed now, I'll talk to you later.
Adam
p.s. don't worry about me, I'm fine. Somehow managed to come out unscathed. But we could all use a little prayer here, to help us keep our heads in the game.
