not playing this one quite as strong as i did the tigers/oakland total last week (3.5 units), but going 2.5 units on this play tonight. good luck if you try it:

2.5 units.....oakland (+130) over boston

it goes without saying that this is a huge series for both teams. but i just feel like theres a sh1tload of value with oakland tonight. it wouldnt surprise me to see pedro go about 5 and 2/3rds or 6 innings tonight. i give credit to boston for strengthening their pen over the last few months but still feel like oakland is a really live home dog tonight if pedro doesnt go the distance. with pedro throwing all those pitches last outing, i dont think he is going to be a workhorse tonight. one thing oakland does do pretty well is take a lot of pitches. if they can get his pitchcount up early on, thats a huge advantage for oakland.

(ytd mlb record.......57-52...+13.26)

i see your point gman2, but, i think that oakland can't take lots of pedros pitches, pedro is a strike's pitcher, the a's bats are cold, i respect your opinion, but i'm with pedro and boston's hot bats.

point well taken. pedro definitely hammers the strike zone. its just always amazed me that for how absolutely dominating pedro can be at times, he's still never been a pitcher that is schilling-esque, or randy johnson-esque where he'll take the ball and say "we're winning this fu/ckin game tonight if it means they have to carry me off the mound". it's like he (pedro) is content to dominate for 2/3rds of the game and then hand the game over to his pen and whatever happens happens. i dont think he is going to stay deep into this game after throwing a lot of pitches last start but we'll see. certainly respect your opinion. no offense taken at all. gl man

2 run lead vs boston? thats never safe. still a ton of game left, no matter how well hudson is pitching.

from my standpoint, im just glad oakland has been patient and getting pedro's pitchcount up there. if they can get pedro out of there after 6, ill take my chances.
