Another SB going Down

I was reading a thread on another site that ESB( english sports betting in jamaica and Ireland) are not returning phone calls, paying out.

The jamaican (sp) goverment has basically closed them down and that's the reason for their move to Ireland.

I was w/ESB for 1.5 yrs about 1.5 yrs ago and never had a problem receiving $$$ or answering questions, thankfully I pulled out. portsbooks are falling like rain which is very scary and we have little or no recourse.

Maybe it's time for the US goverment to legalize internet sports betting(wishfull thinking) for the following reasons.

1. They can place some form of user fee, tax to generate revenue.

2. Monitor and regulate who owns and operates SB.

3. Protect OUR $$$ (which is last on their list)


I don't claim to have all the answers and this may sound stupid, but I needed to vent.

TTM, I use Olympic and they're great and my local is great as well but he doesn't provide the following.

1. No money lines in any sports(puck lines in hockey)
2. I have to wait until 6:30 to bet except when there are alot of gms early.

3. When I owe him$$ I tend to chase on the last day of the week to get it back(bad habit), unlike SB the cash is already gone.

4. Only keep a little $$ in Olympic.

Keep the winners coming in pucks.

Thanks for the info..Pls tell me where u read it? I'lld like to read the story you read also as I'm with ESB and would like to know all I can. fortunatly I have just a small balance rite now but hey..I'lld like it back . I am still recieving promo Emails from ESB(just today) and called for a payout also today. They said call back Monday 10-12 Eastern. Doesn't look good.
I've been with them for a good 5 years or so and havent had any prob's.

HorsPlyrBil, I read the story @ the RX, and since you asked for a payout and they said call back monday, I would be worried.

ESB sent me mulitple e-mails the last few days looking for me to deposit $$, yeah right.

Cash, Jazz is looking to merge w/another SB, the name escapes me.

skulldog you sound like me, used to have acount at esb, about 2 years ago, thats when I heard things were not 100%,not paying and other things, now I use olympic for last 2 years and local which is very good,paying and lines, but don't have money lines and teaser and 1st and 2nd halfs. olympic to me is one of the best and I would stay away from esb, bad news have been coming out about them for awhile. good luck.

ESB Update

Well after 3 weeks 2 days and countless phone calls..I finally got my payout w a letter of apology. Hoping the check is not same material as a puck, we'll see in a few days
