charlotte bobcats (+13)

this one just screams 'clunker' for the cavaliers. they played arguably their best game in the lebron james era on saturday on national tv against the knicks. now they've got this pesky home game with the lowly bobcats before heading out on a 6-game west coast trip.

everyone is starting to talk about playoffs and how far this team can go in the east, all the media coverage has been positive and everyone is telling them how good they are.

ill temper my enthusiasm. they ARE good and they are one of the best teams in the east. but this team still doesnt come out with the necessary intensity every game.

bad spot for the cavs. laying a ton of points in between two national tv games (this thursday is tnt in los angeles).

bobcats have given cavaliers trouble in the first half of all 3 games before cleveland has pulled away in each.

11/18 in charlotte
halftime: cleveland 57-49
final: cleveland 106-89

11/20 in cleveland
halftime: cleveland 48-47
final: cleveland 100-84

1/3 in charlotte
halftime: cleveland 54-52
final: cleveland 94-83

those numbers say the 1st half play might be better, but i think the full game +13 is more appealing in this 4th meeting.

cavs might very well prove me wrong and beat the piss outta charlotte, but ive seen this team play up and down to their competition too many times.

GL on this play. I'm on it myself. I agree with you that this is a bad spot for the Cavs. I think the line is inflated due to what they did against the Knicks.

charlotte bobcats 1st quarter points over 22.5

in three games this year against cleveland, charlotte has scored 25, 28, and 32 points in the 1st quarter.

cavs defense in the 1st quarter just hasnt been there of late, regardless of opponent.

point totals in the 1st quarter by cavaliers opponents recently:

new york 22
atlanta 29
charlotte 32
houston 27
atlanta 32

those 5 teams are nothing special, and theyre all scoring a ton of pts on the cavs in the first 12:00. it seems the trend is for the cavaliers to run and gun in the 1st quarter and not even care what the score is, whether theyre up or down.

then they settle in and get down to business and eventually pull away for the win.

but really think charlotte is the way to go in both the 1st quarter and game tonight.
