Anthony Mason dies at age of 48

Anthony Mason, a longtime NBA player who helped the New York Knicks reach the 1994 NBA Finals, has died at the age of 48.

A Knicks spokesperson confirmed Mason's death to ESPN. The 13-year NBA veteran had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure earlier this month.

You didn`t drive to the hoop when Anthony Mason was on the floor.

Basketball was different in his day....And it`s not that long ago.

LeBron James drives to the hoop with ease.....Back then no way....It wouldn`t happen.

certainly was a piss poor excuse for professional basketball.

once watched Knicks and Pistons score 22 points in a quarter and a half from the opening tip.

to call it good or great D would be an insult to those teams that actually played good D.

the 30 for 30 episode on "Bad Boys" tried to glamourize it..

I liked it when it was physical....Now every hard foul is flagrant.

School... 1989 & 1990 NBA Champs . We thought it was pretty, sorry you didn't. It was the only choice we had , you got to be kidding. I guess you must think that these offensive players were bums, especially Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Mark Aquirre, Vinnie Johnson.

didn't like the "administer injury before allowing a layup D" then and don't like it now..

the intimidation worked..didn't make it any less ugly to watch.
