Where's the standard of conduct for society?
Or is it let everyone do their own thing as long as they don't cross the line? What line? Whose line? Who sets the boundaries?

I use the law and my conscience to guide my behavior and set standards. When the law is unjust, I work to change it, and possibly ignore it if I am willing to pay the consequences of such actions.
Isn't that what 99% of people do? Even if they do it somewhat subconsciously.

Golden rule. Of course psychopaths and narcassists exist and unfortunately those traits tend to exist more in those in leadership positions, be they business or politics.

I agree with you here.
Those types tend to behave for their own self-aggrandizement.
Minimal, if any, consideration for others or the greater good.
