This is the time of the year that I do well by going straight anti-consenus (also works in the NCAA bowls) Taken from another site, here is the consensus as of 12:15 CST

739 Arizona St 128 55.65% +2 Nev Las Vegas 102 44.35% l

System calls for fading any team backed by 70+%. Last three years, system went 21-12 and has made a profit for the two years before that (Didn't keep the records.) Simply, This is a time of the year that you don't want to be on the side of the public. Good Luck to all in the tourney!!

Mr. Fix-It' ready for LSU's Bass

At 6-foot-7, 190-pounds, UAB's Demario Eddins is a wiry forward who does a little bit of everything for the Blazers.

"I'm Mr. Fix-It," joked Eddins. "I see something wrong, I fix it."

Even when it calls for playing out of position. A natural small forward, UAB has needed Eddins to play the power position.

The junior admits the job has been taxing. This season, Eddins has defended players 30 to 50 pounds heavier than himself on a regular basis.

He's banged on the blocks with Clemson's Sharrod Ford (6-9, 220) in Hawaii, fought and scrapped with Charlotte's Curtis Withers (6-8, 230) and took a few bumps from Louisville's Ellis Myles (6-7, 245).

His next battle comes Thursday when UAB (21-10) meets the LSU Tigers (20-9) at the Boise State University Pavilion in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. CBS will air the game, scheduled to tip off at 8:50 p.m.

"At the beginning of the year, it was hard (playing the position)," Eddins said. "It was different playing against bigger players. Sometimes it would take a lot out of me."

Eddins' latest challenge is slowing down Brandon Bass, LSU's 6-8, 252-pound post threat. The Associated Press' SEC player of the year, Bass is averaging 17 points and nine rebounds.

Eddins gives up 60 pounds to Bass, but he isn't ready to concede anything to Bass.

"He probably thinks he has the upper hand, but I can't worry about that, I've just got to go out and play my game," said Eddins.

Eddins' game is something he now works to his advantage. While he lacks size, Eddins has found he can use his quickness against bigger opponents. He'll take the heavier post player out on the perimeter and make them defend him on drives to the basket.

Eddins discovered the strategy in UAB's game at Marquette. He said a light began to flash when he took the Golden Eagles' Mark Jackson, a 6-9, 240-pounder, off the dribble for a basket.

"After that I was used to it," he said.

Head coach Mike Anderson said Eddins is starting to understand how to take advantage of the matchup.

"Demario is a basketball player," said Anderson. "He's the total package. When he's effective, it creates advantages for our basketball team."

Anderson has always had high expectations for Eddins, but now he said Eddins is starting to see his abilities as well. In UAB's run toward a tournament bid, Eddins was key. He averaged 15 points in the Blazers' five consecutive victories and his two 3-pointers in the final minutes against DePaul carried the day in the Blazers' quarterfinal win in the Conference USA Tournament.

Eddins averaged 12 points per game before UAB's five-game win streak.

Also before the stretch run, opponents were backing off Eddins and letting him take the outside shot. Now Eddins is making opponents pay for leaving him open.

"His game has evolved," said Anderson. "Demario has stepped up his entire game."

Donell Taylor said he sees Eddins holding his own against Bass.

"Bass is big and strong, but Demario is quick," Taylor said. "Demario can take him out of the paint, use that first step and get by him."

Those simple approaches that have success are nicely stress free. :)

It sure as hell beats handicapping.

No system play again today, but there definitely are some teams that I wouldn't be backing based on the above.

Good Luck all!

Bobby, thanks for the posts. I already liked NC & NC St. Hopefully both games will go over the 70% mark, and I'll like 'em even more.

Play Okla St-1 or 1- and Wisc+2.Heres a March Madness round of 16 handicapping tip for you Bluechip:Always look for a team that makes it through the first two games and doesn't cover, especially if that teams opponent has covered both games.Though Wisky failed to cover and pushed in thier two,i show them not only covering but winning vs NC ST,though I'm only playing the more conservative plus2.Track each teams tournament to date record vs the spread and total as this tournment progresses,it will lead you to many winners, that is if you're the counterpuncher I am.Doesn't hurt to share a good handicapping tip with someone who doesn't know what to play, its what this site is all about I've been told.Oh,but thats right,I'm the public in your esteemed judgement.Heres two easy ones for you. GL anyway

Do you have the percentages on totals?
I was interested in the line movement in the Illinois game, it jumped from 137 to 144. I'd be willing to bet that over 70% are on the over in that game.
