It makes a big difference how to draft depending on what type of league you are in.
If points are awarded more for pitching stats than pure offensive stats by position players, loaded up on pitching, especially leagues where WHIP is important as well as wins for pitchers.
If heavy points on offensive categories, such as rbi's, hr's, stolen bases, loaded up on offensive production folks. Don't get caught up on first year phenoms such as Corbin (AZ) Puig (LAD), etc., second year success is a crap shoot in roto numbers for those type of players, also look at players who signed huge $$$ contracts in off-season, stats tend to go in the tank the season after, such as Hamels, Pujols, Verlander, Fielder.

I've won 3 H2H leagues in cbs in past 10 years using that method, also I used auto drafts, not live drafts in all 10 years.
Live draft leagues I've been in, I've won 7 of past 10 years all with 10-12 teams, with using both AL/NL players.
Take into consideration your rules first for your league, then go accordingly!!
