i just moved in to a place wired for itand have it set to install friday...im just curious if its "50 times faster " or if thats just bs.
right now i gotta compaq 7360 i bought 2 years ago and only get like 36-38,000 bps i think.
im kinda exited about it and wonderin if anyone else got exited for nothin lol.'

50 bucks a month is sickening but im curious...

this is in no way advertising for a monopolistic joke and customer unfriendly headache isp...

I've heard some good things about it...but 50 times faster maybe just a cliche...it's gotta be a world away from the 38 bps you're getting now...I've tried DSL & telocity...both are impressive to say the least...$50 bucks a month is worth the faster connect speed...you'll be happy I'm sure!

btw...where have you been hiding?

Beertime,
Have you looked at Qwest DSL. You can get a download speed of 640K for $29.95. You pay ISP on top of that but it wouldnt be over $50. I doubt ATT would get anywhere close to that. I've got in and its great. I could never go back to dialup.

Just signed up for cable modem. Charter pipeline for 40.a month. The system is great compared to 33. modem & still have a five year old computer.. I would say that you have enough computer, just need to get faster pipeline.. good luck to all..

I have Cable at home (Cablevision) and DSL in office (Earthlink). Cable is definately faster as far as downloads go. For browsing and stuff, they both are sweet.

You will notice the difference from dial-up IMMEDIATELY and if you ever have to go back to dial-up, it will seem even painfully slower than right now.

PS - The cable is only $30/mo, whereas DSL is $50/mo. But then again, we can not get cable in office.
