GOOD, worst fawking drivers on the road. Probably in so much debt because they self insure and have to pay for all the shit they keep wrecking into.

That place goes out of business the roads will be a safer place.

Penguinfan I used to be a driver ( short haul) there are some bad drivers out there but that auto driver that has to get in front of thr truck at all costs creates a lot of accidents.

Lets just think for a minute,

I would like to know what all the people will say, if for a minute we say Hillary wins or some other Dem.

Then within 6 months , gas prices return to less than 2.50 a gallon.

What will be the reason to as why?

Goerge Bush's policies will have caused it to go down i would guess but really you would have to wait and see what Fox news has to say so most could have a comment on it.

There is only one policy from either party that will have constant negative impact on price of gas--regardless of price of oil--or consumption
TAXES

If you can think of another--enlighten me.

How much we import, especially from whom, how much we drill for here and how much we release from the reserve would kinda be dictated by the gov't, no?

Somewhat true and could have short term effect ie supply/demand--but taxes only thing I know will be regardless--and still waiting for 1st gas tax cut--tack 50 cents a gal some were proposing several years ago--and believe you'll see same people try and slide it in again.

You might want to look at charts in link and note gas tax was more than doubled with TWO raises in Clintons term (dec 90 and oct 93) from 9 cents to 18.4

Exxon Mobil and Royal Dutch Shell left their smaller competitors in the dust and reported record annual profits Thursday. By making $180 million a day between them...

Now that should really end the discussion.

9 cents DTB? 9 FUKCING CENTS? Thats the best you can do? We'er paying $1.75 a gallon more for gas and you are so narrow minded that what really matters is 9 cents Clinton raised the gas tax.

Hopeless.

HH Can't see where that has much to do with price of gas--of course that is what the liberals/media try to impart on there followers.

China Petro (Asia)-E (europe)-and most other oil companies outside U.S. also had record earnings--for very same reason U.S. did.

Oil companies profits per gallon (we'll use highest estimate) of 13 cents-is less than the gov and much less than the states.

--so Penguinfan if you add you states tax--

"Illinois 19 Plus 6.25% sales tax and .3 % tax for underground storage tank fund, and other local sales and gasoline taxes. Diesel fuel taxes are 27.5 cpg for commercial highway users "

--and your filling up--do the math--and then tell me how a certain party convinces some that taxes are no prob--but 13 cent profit/gal is stealing?

You don't think 9 cent tax raise is anything but let a company make 13 cents profit and its catastrophic--can we define that as liberal logic?

--for sake of arguement--I'll pay all your expense relating to oil profits--you pay 1/2 my gas taxes.:)

Dog, you forgot to mention that those taxes we pay go to things we need like roads and bridges. Where do those record gouging profits go? Maybe you should buy a small plane and stay off the roads and bridges since you have such a problem with taxes. Those taxes also create a lot of nice paying jobs.

You don't think gas prices more than tripling in 4 years (coincidentally right before the Iraq abortion, gas was around 1.15-1.20 and I just paid 3.69 last weekend in Fort Lauderdale) is anything, but you're worried about a 9 cent tax increase from a decade ago?

For the sake of argument, i'll subsidize all taxes associated with your fuel purchases, if you'll take care of half of the increase in actual price that has occured over the last 4 years on fuel that I have bought.

look at price of oil in 02 and 03 and :grouphug: and see if you can figure a remote reason why price of gas may also have triple.

With DTB, every discussion has to be distinguished between hard line liberal and conservative points of view. There is never a middle ground and always a whole lot of finger pointing when the fact of the matter is that both sides of the aisle share blame on many issues.

WTF does this stuff even mean? Are those crude prices?

It's a plain FACT that AT THE PUMP, prices have tripled in four years. And it started IMMEDIATELY after the Iraq occupation.

Do you want to dispute that?
