Valpo very weak ft%, but Raitis Graf is a quaility 6'11 senior from Latvia.

Reading some newspapers, it looks like HC Steve Alford is happy to have this " play in game". They practiced the last two days, supposedly very good practice time.

Sounds like Alford is going to be interviewed for the UCLA job. That always creates an interesting/unpredictable scenario.

Got to wonder about the quick travel time for Valpo.

That's all I have to add, hope it helps lay the wood2.

If redsfann is around, he would be the best in providing an unbiased opinion of this game.

gotta take the points here. I can see Iowa winning barely though. I read a article on friday about IOWA. says he might be on his way to UCLA, not only that, people are saying if he doesnt do good next year, he'll be out anyways.

I have not seen Valpo play but it really does not matter because I have seen Iowa and it aint been pretty. I just can't see the Hawkeyes running anybody off the floor.

Give me Valpo and the points in a small play just to keep me interested.:p

The only way Alford leaves before 2009 is by his choice...Iowa would have to mortgage the university to pay him off...he won't leave because Iowa kicks him out, cause they can't afford it:D

Iowa is not good against big men, Valpo has two of them...I think Iowa wins, but 7.5 is too many IMHO

Oh, I don't think I would count on Iowa being unmotivated as this is actually an acomplishment for this team, many thought this team would win 5-10 games. They play two freshman alot and these guys will be motivated, again IMHO

On Iowa and Go Hawks:cool:

Very similar RPI ratings. Obviously the Big 10 is the better conference, by a long shot. Valpo was the best team in their conference, but IUPUI won the tourney and got the NCAA bid. I have to lean Valpo as well, but so does everyone else. I want to pull the trigger on Valpo, but I just can't.

I think the unders is the best play in this game. Both teams don't score much, and seem to always go though cold streaks. SHould be a fairly low scoring affair.

Hey Mr Wolf--

I'll put my 2 cents in, but it certainly ain't unbiased as KCWolf would have you believe. VALPO + 7.5 and the ML is the way to go in this one....LOL.

joebell--

think you got Alford and Ferentz mixed up. I thought Alford only had 2 years left on his deal, whereas Ferentz just got the extension thru '09. Hope UCLA hires the little weasel-- it would just be another in a string of poor choices to coach that program since the Wizard of Westwood hung it up. Alford has proved since he's been in Iowa City that he is totally over his head at the D-I level of basketball. He's lucky the Big-10 has sucked the last few years or Iowa wouldn't have played in the NIT much less the NCAAs under him. Never thought I'd say this, but......anyone got Dr Tom Davis' phone number?
GREAT weather here in God's country the last few days.........:D ;)

Hey Redsfann...yes the weather is great, keep it coming;)

I think it must be wishful thinking on your part, I'm pretty sure Alford is locked up for another 5 years too. (I think:confused: )

It was nice to see them win tonight...I would like to see Leslie go out with a little pride, he's from NYC - finishing up his career @ Iowa in NYC would be good for him. He been through the Alford learning curve (I haven't given up on Alford yet:shrug: ) I'm kinda a slow learner:nono: :D

UMMM, Another Iowa state game, I don't think my heart can handle losing to that sorry excuse for a university again :moon:
Sorry Wolf:eek:

Good luck in the tourny guys
